DH & I just watched "Fat, Sick, & Nearly Dead" last night.
We are definitely inspired to try a juicing detox. I would *love* to lose 35 pounds. I went to the website & it seems the new juicing plans include meals. I suppose doctors/lawyers advised him to add solid foods into the daily plans?
Anyway, DH & I have a BlendTec blender & used the "whole juice" button for: 1 bunch of spinach, about a cup of carrots, 1/2 bunch of broccoli, about 1/2 cup of fresh blueberries, & 1 bag of frozen strawberries. It's all we had on hand, but it was delicious! I am going to stock up on more fresh fruits & veggies today.
Any advice? What is the ginger/ginger root used for? Is it for taste, or does it add a certain benefit that I don't want to skimp on? Have any of you suffered from the fatigue, migraines, nausea, vomiting that others have mentioned? I'm sure we should have "prepped" our bodies for this, but we are pretty healthy (other than me needing to lose weight) & we have been eating almost all organic for a year now.
I'm so excited to get this started & I would LOVE it if someone wanted to join in & help hold me accountable!

I have been completely faithful to this for a week, but added almonds, cashews, & pistachios for protein.
DH has lost 6 lbs & will start adding in a "normal" healthy lunch tomorrow.
I've already hit my first plateau, which is really frustrating, but I'm still going to stick with it! I went to TX Roadhouse with the family Sat night & cheated.
I had roasted chicken, dry sweet potato, & dry salad. But what I didn't have *dry* were 2 of the BEST ROLLS you've ever tasted in your life with that sinful cinnamon butter.

It is VERY hard to cook for the kids, and resist the temptations. June has been a super busy month for us (2 different camps everyday for the kids for the WHOLE month.)

Unfortunately, (in FSND standards) I'm only down 8 lbs. But wait....8 lbs in 1 month in the REAL world is a ton of weight! We have been eating 1 meal a day, and I've been walking 1.5-3.5 miles about 3-4x per week. I cheated today, because I was shopping in the city with DD11 ALL DAY! I had a Chick-fil-a FRIED sandwich on wheat, with no mayo or anything. I didn't have a side, and drank a bottle of water. Then, DMIL invited us to Olive Garden & for more shopping. Sooo....I had the regular salad with no salad dressing
and NO breadsticks.
I drank water & that was it. She had a grilled chicken salad with no dressing. I feel pretty guilty because I only juiced this am PLUS had a tall Starbuck's caramel macchiato (with skim milk.) Okay, enough with the confessions
I think this is such a healthy alternative to all of the fad diets that so many of us have tried. Feel free to post your progress, failures, and encouragement here. It's nice to know that I'm not alone here
Mine is already getting loose, but I refuse to buy another one until I'm literally falling out of it.
