Watched Disney's "The Black Hole" this evening

Talk about a walk down memory lane! 1979 was a long time ago, LOL! But watching it made me realize a few things:

1) The robotic character of "BOB" was very certainly an inspiration for "Mater" in Cars.

2) The term "special effects" meant something entirely different 30 years ago. But my 11 year old still thought it was "cool."

3) The groovy computer graphics and state-of-the-art green line technology made me REALLY miss the People Mover and the trippy Tron-like tunnel....

That would be fun to watch again. It has been years. It also reminds me of Tron and I don't really remember much about that one.

I know on the Cars disc they said they had met a guy while researching the movie and they said Mater was based on him and the way he talked and acted. But it is funny that this robot was so much like him.

I remember seeing this at the Drive-In. We've got the dvd, I really wanted the music on a Halloween cd I made and finally found it--love that.

This is one of my Favorite Movies!!!!! The First time I watched it, my Dad took me to the movies to watch it!! I was 9 years old! A Few months ago I bought the Dvd and watched it with my kids. They Loved it!
