Watched "Brother Bear" tonight....

I watched it for the second time (first being in the theater) after I purchased the DVD last week.

I think it's a really good movie. Strong story and great animation. And, even though I'm not at all a Phil Colins fan, the music was pretty good too.

I give it :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc out of Five Pink Bouncers! (Lilo & Stitch would rate as a five!)

How could you not like it. Especially the mooses;) , loved them playing the "I Spy" game.

I loved the part when the brother became the bear and all the animated animals that talked but thought the part before was really too scary for kids. (The killing of the brother and the scary bear, etc). The story was nice but my girls would be too scared to watch it. I wouldn't buy this one, IMHO. :earseek:

I've seen (at least parts of) it 5 times since the DVD came out. The kids love it and will wear it out until I buy the next DVD. They've already discovered their totems!

It was much better than lion king 1.5 that also came out recently. Not nearly as good as the pixar stuff (Jobs Rules) or the original Mermaid and Lion King but not a bad movie.

The music bothers me though. When the kids are watching it, I sometimes think they are watching Tarzan the sound track by Phil Collins is very similar.

My dad, who finds very little amusement in Disney movies, thought the ending was hilarious when the moose kept saying "no you shut up" and the echo would say "no you shut up" and the moose thought it was someone else talking!

He still cracks up about that today. Go figure!

I found the animation beautiful, liked the soundtrack, interesting story - the only thing I didn't like was....I felt like the movie was created as an ad for the over-the-top environmentalists. Now, I'm all for preserving the environment to a point but I felt like this message was pushed in my face too much during the movie.

Am I the only one???

With all that said, we'll probably buy the DVD.

the kids here didnt like it much. It has only been on 1 time in 2 weeks

I saw it this weekend for the first time and I liked it! I agree, the "I Spy" part was funny- it reminded me of Finding Nemo. The echo part was funny too.

The older lady bear who kept saying her Husband was dead, and he kept saying " I am NOT dead, stop saying that.":teeth: However, it was short, and sad and happy, sad, and happy, sad, and happy......

I didn't get that feeling at all. I found the movie reflective of Native American cultures and beliefs and definitely not over the top in any way.

I fell asleep. Guess you could say I wasn't too impressed :o . Now Lion King 1.5, that was good :teeth: .

I loved it!
Loved the line: Don't make me turn this formation around.

I embarrassed my kids by sobbing in the movie theatre at the end of Brother Bear, so no one is in a hurry to rush right out and get it on DVD. :p I thought it was a beautiful movie, but man did it tug at my heartstrings! :(

I didn't get that at all.

I really enjoyed watching it with Rutt & Tuke's commentary. That was hilarious! :rotfl:

Watch out for that chipmunk!
