This is a bonus day! (For those not going to work) what's on the agenda for today? Chores? Shopping? Barbeque?

DH said as he went to sleep last night - "it's so nice not having to get up on the 5th and go to work"

We're all home today just doing things around the house. It's a yucky day outside (hot and very humid - and now I hear thunder) so we're staying put.

Not sure if we are going to go out or not. It doesn't seem like the is going to come out soon, so maybe I'll work in the garden and start some new seedlings. Right now I'm trying to get some pictures sort out for my scrapbook. I have to also think of what to make for dinner.

Doing a few things around the house and taking it easy today. We had 40 people over yesterday (didn't actually count, but somewhere in that area!) and have to do a few things to get everything back into order for the week.

Summer is here and it is going to be hot today (around 107-108 degrees), with little humidity. That's a bit of a concern, as our dew point usually is around 45 to 50 degrees at this time of year, rendering our evaporative coolers useless. In other words, the drought is in full swing! It's the first serious one I can remember in 27 years.

Hope everyone with the day off is able to relax and generally goof off--at least a bit--today!

Just staying home and cool in the house. Thought of going to Williamsburg for the day, but then the humidity arrived.

Not doing much of nothing. The kids have been outside playing in the water hose. I might venture out tomorrow and take them to the pool - but only if they behave today

Ya know, I was just out on a walk and I was thinking the same thing...this is such a bonus day!
We did some errands earlier. Now we are getting some things done around the house...bigger chores we have been putting off. Later I hope to get some packing/organizing done for our upcoming trip.
We are really getting a lot accomplished.

Very hot and humid today, slept in till 8:00am, went shopping for new washer/dryer, came home to chill out and will be grilling this evening. Getting ready for work tomorrow after watching TV tonite.

We're celebrating the Fourth in our small town. Had the parade this morning and and "Anything that Floats" contest at the lake. I sold water and hoagies for the Home and School group and went on a fire truck ride.

Now we're going to have dinner and then go to the park for a concert.

It's hot but lots of fun.

Well, as I'm a teacher, off for the summer...not much different about today!!

DD, 10, decided to let go of some b'day cash from FEBRUARY and I took her to buy a mini Simplicity sewing machine. Now, she went with the understanding that I know NOTHING about sewing other than hand-stitching Girl Scout badges onto vests. So, we've spent about an hour and a half playing with it and fighting with it and I'm brain-dead....no, we've not gotten the hang of it yet. I guess this could become another thread!!

As we're both frustrated, we just baked brownies for the neighbors who moved in next door today. Thought it might cheer us up as the neighbors who moved out took DD's best friends with them.
