I think there can be a severe reaction to any vaccine and any drug. I almost died when I was 10 mths old from the smallpox vaccine, but I have asthma and I'm on a med that suppresses the immune system...definitely in high-risk group for H1N1 so I will be getting it. I've never gotten the seasonal flu shot because those over 65 are in the highest risk group for that and I only get it about once every 10 yrs.

My cousin's BIL just died from the flu. He was a healthy 50 year old man in very good shape before this all happened. He left behind 2 children and a wife. The flu (H1N1 or the regular old flu) kills people every year.

We all get the flu shot in my house because 2 of us have asthma. If I could find an H1N1vaccine, I'd probably get it. Unfortunately, it's next to impossible to get it around here.

I do understand that people are worried about vaccines though. Some people do get a bad reaction. But, most people will only suffer from a sore arm that day.

Number one, this woman had a flu shot, not H1N1. She is one in a million with her reaction. As the local papers have pointed out, nobody knows her history -- did she go out drinking heavily the night before. One major reaction to a flu shot vs how many people actually dying from the flu. I have been taking the seasonal flu shot (which she took) for over 38 years and have only had one reaction -- about 24 hours of feeling flu like symptoms. Yes, she had a reaction, but keep reading the newspapers and the internet and see the sad stories of all the children and young adults dying. You take your chances either way, but I now which one I am going to choose. And no, all the vitamins in the world are NOT going to keep you from getting the flu.

Regular seasonal flu shot - extremely rare reaction..

H1N1 flu vaccine - no numbers available of people dying or having serious side effects in comparison to the people who have already been vaccinated from reliable sources..

I'll take the vaccines..
