They are hoping to have people move to the state in groups of 12,000. Though the group currently has just about 600 members,

I am sure that no one here is flaming him because he is Christian. There are many on this board, I would say the majority are and are all very sweet peoople.

Its quite obvious that this guy is insane and I'm sure that his followers are as well.

I live in Charleston, SC also! It's a small world after all! (Pardon the pun) I think we already have tons of nuts running around (Hwy 17 for example), the religious fanatics would really go unnoticed. I have six kids, 5 of them are 9 and under. I have 600 strong in my house on a single weekend! lol!!! I can sic the little ones on them if they show up at my door.

No flames here. I think people are saying this guys a loon because he wants a conservative christian agenda forced upon the entire country. I have no idea what they will actually do, but they come across as very intolerant of anyone not like them and quite frankly, they strike me as a bunch of wackos who'd like the US changed into a theocracy.

Charleston is nicknamed "The Holy City" because of the number of churches and the many denominations that established churches here because of religious freedom. The many diifferent faiths here enjoy mutual respect and very good relationships with other faiths, and I don't think many people are going to let a group with an agenda influence them.

By the way, I am Christian.

I think he's a nut job, but he has gotten some attention. I doubt he will get "the new majority in SC" but this country was founded on religious freedom, so he can do as he wants. There is a lot more to running a country than being a zealous Christian and he has a tough road ahead of himself. It will be interesting to see how he is doing come 2016.

He hopes to have 60k people there by 2016? I could probably walk door to door and convince more people to move than him.

There are many people now in SC that are not originally from the south. His idea will not get anywhere. SC is unfairly viewed as backward enough by people around the country we don't need this nut case too.

I thought Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana held the title for backwards because these states usually rank at the end of any polls (as in top 50 for anything). Noticed I put my state in that list!
