Watch out for errors in CC billing from DDE.

They have some rediculous charge over 300 to my credit card listed as "Disney Dining Experience". The problem is it is so hard to get through to correct it, only open 9-5 on the weekdays and the lines are jammed. They don't even have a prompt for current cardholders to speak to someone, its all geared toward optaining a card. Get a busy signal to line to leave a message for over an hour. I'm sure it will all get straightened out but not without a hassle and the bill was nearly paid and filed away by DH and we would have missed it all together. So, keep an eye out for charges on the CC you bought DDE with, 3 months after got the card is when the oddball charge appeared.

Wow, thanks for the heads up. That is a little bizarre. If it's not too personal, what were they charging you for??? :confused3

No clue! When I get through to them I'll let them explain it to me. It just says Disney Dining experience. The only reason I caught it was that I thought a round entry in the checkbook looked odd. It was a CC we don't use often so that was the only charge. DH paid it and filed it away w/o thinking about it, I looked into it to discover they charged 370 then gave a credit of 70, making for a 300 CC bill from DDE charges. My GUESS is that they did some sort of check and decided I should not have a DDE card (computer might think I'm not eligible for some reason but I'm both AP holder and FL resident). They may have given me back membership fee ($70 back when AP gave you $5 off) and then charged me 370 for benefits used on prior trips associated with DDE. The other possibility is just a weird mistake thinking I wanted some fancy 150pp meal offered through DDE, but the $70 credit would be odd for that. Line to leave a message is still busy.

Wow, that's crazy! Pixie dust to you that they get this taken care of quickly for you! :wizard:
And thanks again for giving the rest of us a heads up!

If you don't get anywhere.... dispute the charge with the issuing bank.
Debit Visas/MC are bound by the same rules.

It may be a billing error - first they charged our credit card $50, then credited it, then four days later, charged it $50 again for the card. We received the card a few weeks ago, so I'm assuming there wasn't a problem. Once I couldn't use my Disney Credit Card (not Visa) online - it kept coming back as declined. I called and here they had charged my card something like ten times for $1.00 each time (for what I have no idea) and for security reasons (due to ten transactions in a row), they restricted the use of my card. I have no idea what they thought someone would be buying from the Disney Store for a dollar. Who knows what goes on...

Be careful I just heard of some credit card scam where it starts out as a $1.00 charge to see if card is active. Then they charge as small amount like $29.95. I'm not saying this is the same but it sounds odd.

Did you ever get through to DDE?

Nope. Finally went to regular guest services again who again said they couldn't do anything but seemed to understand my fustration at getting through to a 9-5 M-F jammed packed number so gave me the standard guest communications email. I've emailed about it and hope to hear something back in a few days. The CC company is sending me a form to dispute the charge but I'd prefer to get it straigtened out since I want to be about to use DDE on a trip next month. Not a big deal in the scheme of things but it is a hassle.

I'm following your saga with interest since I'm going to be ordering the DDE card soon. I'm beginning to wonder how hard is it to even get through to ORDER the card, much less solve any problems?! Did it take many tries to get through when you ordered?

I called yesterday and there was a long wait. The CM told me to try between 12-1 and it's slower. Then this morning, I called right when they opened and got right through. I acted like I was calling for CRT :) it worked.

I hope your CC troubles are resolved quickly.

FYI - on my credit card bill the reservation for our Magic Family Tour showed up as a dining charge (WDW Dining Reservat)

I called and asked the travel agent about it cause I was concerned that they had charged it wrong, but that is what it was.

And I had the same thing happen with being declined cause of small charges close together. Turns out if you swipe your credit card for pay at the pump gas the gas company charges a small amount than credits it back to charge the correct amount. DH and I had filled up the same day, hours apart and used the same card so it triggered it.

Hope that Helps, Nora

This happened last year - I wish all the charges on my Disney Credit were fraudulent , but unfortunately, they were all made by me! Thanks for the information, though, it's good to know.
