Watch DL Fireworks But Not Watch MSEP

I was hoping to catch the DL fireworks during my visit and since it is a short visit I am mostly concentrating on rides/attractions that are not at WDW. I have seen the MSEP many times so it is not quite the draw for me on this trip but I would like to catch the fireworks. Is there anyplace I can go to watch the fireworks without waiting around in the parade crowd? It looks like MSEP is at 8:30 and 10:30 and the Fireworks are at 9:25 - I am guessing any good view for the FW means I will have to grab a good spot well before that 8:30 MSEP and just stick it out, correct?

We usually head to Main Street while the parade is going and hang around in the shops until it passes by. Once it goes by everyone will move from the curb out into the street and you just follow them. There should be plenty of room at that time since obviously the street holds more people standing than the curbs sitting. It can be a little tricky getting there while the parade is going on but you should be able to use the crosswalks if you get trapped on the wrong side. We usually end up on Main Street right in front of the Camera store on the corner.

Since the parade goes down the side path next to the castle and not in front of it, you can stake out a place in the hub. The best are more to the right-hand side, but that side is also going to be more crowded because of the parade.

This is an excellent strategy. Worked like gangbusters for us on our last trip.
