Watch 70s Shows

in recent years we've watched (re watched for me)-kung fu, the rookies, barney miller, wkrp and kolchak-the night stalker. loving rewatching episodes of the bob newhart show, wish someone would stream mary hartman, mary hartman. any sci-fi of the 70's we likely own on dvd :crazy2: but dh loves the stuff.

I rewatched The Waltons during covid. It was comforting both because the show originally aired during my childhood in the 70s, and because it was set in difficult times of its own. - I found a lot of parallels/inspiration.

I rewatched that a few years ago.
And Family Affair.
Also binged watched Dick Van Dyke and One Day at Time.

Watching the Hardy Boys now. Classic 70s haircuts.

so much more accurate to the origin material (books/comic books) vs. the god-awful 'nancy drew', 'sabrina the teenage witch', 'riverdale' c--p that has/is aired beginning with the melissa joan hart junk of the '90s.

I watch DvDyke, Bob Newhart (either show), MTMoore,
Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Dennis the Menace & others.
I don't watch them every night but I space them out,
a little here, a little there.
Lately I've been plowing through the Danny Thomas Show,
which started as Make Room for Daddy.
Now, that one was before my time but I like the "comfort" feel.
That is what I call the old shows of the 60's & 70's: My comfort shows.

I actually like the new Hardy Boys series even though it has little to do with the books. And even the books got an edit way before I was born for content in the 50s.

Our family started watching Cheers during the pandemic and we're still going through the series (we're slow to watch episodes so this will take awhile).

I also started watching I Love Lucy from the beginning. It's nice to put my phone on Do Not Disturb and pretty much rewind time and not be bothered with what's going on in the world today. It's, in a way like travelling to Disney World and leaving the rest of the world behind :D
