Wasting away again in Loserville-(all welcome to grab an adult beverage and come in)

Morning!!!!

I had a lousey night...the boy decided 3AM was morning and it took about an hour and a half to convince him he was wrong.

I had a bad night too. I have been up since a little after 3. Ugh. I am going to need a nap today. I fell into a deep sleep and woke myself up snoring LOL.

My water heater broke AGAIN. So no hot water. The thing is a POS.

My son also left his cell in a pants pocket and it got washed. It has survived one washing I am not sure about the second time though. My mom was ticked off because she stopped checking his pockets when he said it was on the island.

Hope everyone has a good day.

How old is your water heater? If it was about 10-15 years old, there was a problem in that time frame and all of them are basically defective. http://diptube.info/DipTube4AOSmith.html Ours is one of those, too. The tube that refills the bottom of the tank with the cold water to be heated (hot water on top) is breaking and releasing the cold water on top. So water heater doesn't work right. There was a class-action lawsuit, but we never knew about it til ours started acting up. We have one picked out, just need to set up an install, etc. and who knows when that will be? Probably when DH is out of town:rolleyes:

I read this part and was like Uh-oh....kids in trouble now  I thought he might have left his room a.k.a. the "cell". Both situations stink! I hope replacements won't be too bad on the wallet :scared1:

Sounds like everyone will be either napping or hitting the sack early tonight  I hope you all get your much needed rest or the little kiddos aren't going to be happy with cranky momma's :scared:

I failed my first test with both of my pregnancies, then passed the second test both times.

One thing that may help is to walk around during that hour between the blood tests. If you move, you help your body process all those sugars they just made you dump in there. When I did the 3 hour test the first time, I sat in the waiting room for the first hour. They did the blood test and my numbers were still too high. I got bored and decided to walk around the medical complex for about 20 mins during the second hour. When they did the second blood test, my numbers were fine and they let me go. No need for the third test.

So, I may have to watch Wheel of Fortune? I haven't seen it in years. I've always enjoyed it, but just don't get to see it anymore. I wonder why. Oh, yes... I have children.

DS2 is still sick, but he just asked for some 'nana slices. I'm giving him a few and we'll see what happens. Fingers crossed that I'm not scrubbing banana puke out of the carpet in an hour.

Morning!!!!

What is up with our kids! I think they're conspiring against us. DS9 woke up at around 2, saying he didn't feel well. I just told him to hop in my bed & we went back to sleep. I had DS9 (who is 5' tall, around 95 lbs) & DD3 in my bed. When I woke up, I was literally hanging on the edge of my bed with my head on my nightstand. But - they were both stretched out like they owned the place! :headache:

I made the final 30 at my Wheel of Fortune auditions yesterday!!! :yay:

I was even on the news :)

There is a video link posted somewhere, I was even on the news for about 1.5 seconds. :lmao:

I'm such a dork. But, who knows? I may be a RICH dork someday. :)

Go twin! :cheer2: That is so exciting! Now, when you're on the show, you know that you're going to have to "give a shout out" to the Losers! :lmao:

Getting pregnant is scarier and scarier for me!

Oh, don't worry - pregnancy is a truly spiritual time and a blessing to our womanhood. It's a time to embrace and feel blessed that we are able to carry our next generation within us. :cloud9:

Ok, seriously - I'm not going to even go there. If I told you the truth, you would never want to have kids. Just remember, though - it's only 9 months. ;)

Still bored :sad2:

I have folded 2 loads of laundry & have a load in the washer & dryer.

Someone stop me before I start scrubbing the floors :scared:

WHOO HOO! You GO GIRL! I saw the video, btw...you are a hottie! ;) Good luck with the Wheel!

Well, I FAILED the 1 hour test. Now I go back on Friday morning for the 3 hour fasting test. I can't eat anything after 10 pm on Thursday, have to be there at 8 Friday morning for them to take my "fasting" blood glucose level, drink twice as much sweet stuff, then sit there for 3 hours while they prick my finger every hour.

IAHD - I'm sorry you had to go thru that. I'm really hoping my 3 hour test comes back OK, I hate needles.

I gained 7 lbs this month.

Oh, and to add more drama on the baby shower in Iowa thing, I told the Dr. and he said I'd be miserable driving there at 32 weeks. He said I'd have to stop every hour to pee and walk around. He just wasn't real stoked on the idea. He said if my test came back OK and I was feeling good I could go, but ...

So, DH called and canceled it last night.

So, what's going on around here? I think I saw a yummy looking drink. Someone please have one of those for me. I went to dinner on Friday with my girlfriend (1 of the 3 Malibu Girls) and while we were waiting for our table she had a couple of drinks, I told her I could SMELL the Malibu on her breath - OK so it was FAKE Malibu (Parrot Bay), but still. YUM!!!

Okay, first, don't freak out about failing the first test. It happens. A lot. I posted in your thread about it, but I also agree with RVGal. Walk between tests when you do the long test. Just keep moving so that you burn up those sugars they just force fed you.

There you go! Now THAT'S more like it!
:lmao:

Okay off to gymnastics again. Hopefully we won't be making a scene this week like we have the last couple of weeks!:upsidedow

Keep your fingers crossed! I know that depending on your sugar levels, you may be able to control it with diet vs. insulin shots. I too am a needle phobic but learned how to do it to myself in case I had to give myself insulin & DH wasn't around. He offered to shoot me  But I think he'd have too much fun  The worst part wasn't even the needles, it was the micro-managing of everything I ate. What I would do between now & your 3 hour appt is really keep an eye on what you are eating. http://chinese-school.netfirms.com/diabetes-gestational-diet-plan.html is a website with a sample idea of a daily diabetic diet. Watch your portion sizes and switch to a "sugar-free" option if available - I loved Sugar free popsicles/fudgsicles while I pg. By watching what you eat between now & the appt. you may be able to get your body to adjust and then pass the test. Just follow some type of diet until the baby is born. While it is not harmful to the baby, the concern with gestational diabetes is that the extra sugar goes to the baby and you end up having a bigger baby - higher risk of C-section with a bigger baby. The reason for insulin shots vs. pill form is that with the pill, the meds go to the infant instead of being absorbed by you and helping you. Injected insulin is the only route if you end up needing meds. Good things is your body usually returns to normal non-diabetic state pretty much immediately after giving birth. Bad thing, you are higher risk of getting age-onset diabetes later in life. Good luck! I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you till after Friday!

Another Gestational Diabetic here. That 3 hour test is a pain...just sitting in the waiting room waiting and waiting. My Dr. wouldn't let me go any where, said I might get light headed or faint from the drink. Oh yeah, this will make you feel good, my DSil's Dr. gave her A SNICKERS bar instead of the drink. The stuff to drink isn't that bad..

I passed one of the 4 tests so I was diagnose as GD. I was allowed to try and was successful with managing it with diet. I was terrified of having to give myself a shot, so I was very strict with myself on the diet. I hated having to go to the diabetes clinic every week so they could download all my finger prick results, and basically monitor me like I wouldn't tell anyone if my sugar was high. That was wonderful, too having to prick my fingers five times a day. they were so sore...oh yeah, they told me it was to prevent a big baby, well, DS10 was 6lbs. 2 oz when he was born...they made me starve my little tiny baby...:headache: Diabetes disappeared immediately after he was born

Then with DS8, even though I passed 2 of 4 test, which would have been fine. But they said since I had it before, they would just say I had it again! NOT FAIR!!! So anyway, followed the diet and all was fine. He was 7lbs/ 3 oz. Diabetes disappeared after.

So malibou, if you go the route that I did, no needles, it is just a huge pain in the butt to have to monitor every single thing you eat. And the finger prickers/ monitors have improved dramatically, you don't have to use your fingers anymore. Even with DS8, they had come up with a better lancet holder that didn't hurt at all.

One more thing I wanted to add to IAHD's really good advice about preparing the week before the test is done. Walk...a lot..this helps your sugar metalbolize faster. When I was doing my monitoring, I would alway walk right after a meal before I had to test. It really helps get those numbers down.

Good Luck!!

ETA, as usual I didn't read the entire thread. RVGal gave you the above advice, but I am too lazy to delete it..it stays.

Today I'll have to actually clean something, I guess. I really need to iron but I'll wait til tomorrow when it's cold and grey. Just seems wrong to iron on a warm sunny day. Maybe I'll even get out and work in the garden. I also have to run to Target for DH's prescription later but I'll be around here for a while (maybe all day!).

It's kinda cool here and gray, does that mean I have to iron?:confused3

could you please post the link, I want to see how hot she is, too.:thumbsup2

OK, ladies. The boys bathroom is worse than the truck stop's. I'm going in for a thorough cleaning..where's the Tilex and the gas mask...and the biohazard suit?

The house was built in 2001 I think and we moved in August of 2004 I think. Right when we moved in the thing leaked and we bought a new one. Since then it has been repaired 2 times once having to wait 3 days for a part to be shipped. I am hoping the guy can just fix it today when he comes this afternoon and we won't have to wait for a part. I can get a new water heater too if I have to, i don't care I just need some hot water.

Thanks, I'll try not to stress about it. I was really surprised tho. I'll try and walk around. I know you have to stay in the office the first hour in case it makes you sick, then they said I could leave if the first reading was OK. I'll be getting funny looks walking circles around the lab or waiting room.

Thanks for all the advice and support guys. I'll keep you updated.

I also wanna see hottie FLtwinmom's link. :woohoo:

Is there an R?

Queenie - if we don't hear from you soon we'll send in reinforcements for the bathroom.

Nat - Pregnancy really isn't that bad. It's the delivery I'm concerned about. I'm going to :lovestruc the Epideral Man.
