Guess what? I bought a van! Got the Toyota (best deal--liked it and the Honda equally) and just have to wait for it to get off the truck and then driven to our dealership. Should be within the next week or so:banana: . I am so happy because I HATE car shopping. Now if only my transmission holds out that long....

Woo Hoo! A new car is so much fun! The buying of it....not so much!

Off to bed, you all be good....

Hey Losers!! Just wanted to pop in and say hello.

Just waiting for 6 pm to come as I have to go do my 28 week glucose test. I'm really wanting an afternoon snack. I wasn't sure what to have, so I had a slice of cheese an hour ago, well before the 2 hour mark they gave me.

:scared: I remember THAT test....I FAILED :sad2: Had to watch what I ate and give myself a needle (insulin) every day for 4 months  Tasted like flat soda. Hope you passed with flying colors!

Here's what I have planned, I have someone else helping, it would be easier just to do it myself. Aren't I nice?

Monday, each child brings in a stem of flowers to put into a vase I bought at Walmart.
Tuesday-breakfast for Teacher
Wednesday-Box of folded notes children have made up ahead of time, box is lined with pretty pink organza (got at Target Dollar Place for $.50) and note hopefully say things, like "I love You", "you are a great teacher", etc. I am going to read them before I give them her, although I am sure none of the little darlings would write something not nice..;)
Thursay -Lunch or not, haven't decided...
Friday-gift card presentation, hopefully parents have given some money so we can buy one that isn't an embarrassing amount.

Great ideas.....I see you have 2 school meals planned. Would she be the type of person who would be thankful for a home dinner - Not sure of family size but a gc to a pizza place, boston market, pick up 1 of those roaster chickens at the grocery store, a bag of salad, loaf of italian bread so she wouldn't have to make dinner one 1 evening type of thing instead of doing it at school.

In other news......
Congratulations on the new vehicle. New cars are awesome, car payment stinks.

Fraggle......GO TO YOUR ROOM AND DO YOUR HOMEWORK....NOW!!!! Just kidding but had to do the mom moment.

Lara.....mom, I forgot.....
I need 3 dozen cupcakes for tomorrow AND they CANNOT have any high fructose corn syrup in them and Jenny is alergic to nuts and Melissa doesn't like pink and, and, and.....

Shay...... hope you are still sleeping! Feel better and pixie dust your way for better days.

Jack....I concur.... *sigh*

and everyone else.....:grouphug: :flower3:

Wait- What is this glucose test and insulin needles?????!?!?!

Getting pregnant is scarier and scarier for me!

Gestational Diabetes...if you are pregnant, you are tested for it. Don't worry...there are worse things about pregnancy. I won't share them with you now, though!;)

Night Losers! See yas manana fer shore!

Morning!!!!

I had a lousey night...the boy decided 3AM was morning and it took about an hour and a half to convince him he was wrong.

I made the final 30 at my Wheel of Fortune auditions yesterday!!! :yay:

I was even on the news :)

There is a video link posted somewhere, I was even on the news for about 1.5 seconds. :lmao:

I'm such a dork. But, who knows? I may be a RICH dork someday. :)

Oh, Lara, I'm sorry and you were so tired already last night. My 2 used to tag team me for a total of 4-7 wakeups a night, with the BIG baby coming into their room to find me and wake me up to come to my bed, the patoot, I swear, if I didn't kill him then, i may never...

Now I get 0-1 wakeups, I put my foot down and said "If you wake up not bleeding, go to your sister, its what I had two for!!" and they pretty much listened :scared1: DD7 still comes in to tell me she's going to her sisters room and/or to try and squeeze in with me (sometimes, it happens ,especially if she's sick) but I count my blessings and take the one wake up.

Hope your little guy sleeps thru tonight, check his windows, I found out that dd9's windows didn't block the car lights at night when they went by and that was what was waking her up at night, changing her room around and putting curtains in front of th e whole window helped. Good luck!!:goodvibes

:scared: I remember THAT test....I FAILED :sad2: Had to watch what I ate and give myself a needle (insulin) every day for 4 months  Tasted like flat soda. Hope you passed with flying colors!

Well, I FAILED the 1 hour test. Now I go back on Friday morning for the 3 hour fasting test. I can't eat anything after 10 pm on Thursday, have to be there at 8 Friday morning for them to take my "fasting" blood glucose level, drink twice as much sweet stuff, then sit there for 3 hours while they prick my finger every hour.

IAHD - I'm sorry you had to go thru that. I'm really hoping my 3 hour test comes back OK, I hate needles.

I gained 7 lbs this month.

Oh, and to add more drama on the baby shower in Iowa thing, I told the Dr. and he said I'd be miserable driving there at 32 weeks. He said I'd have to stop every hour to pee and walk around. He just wasn't real stoked on the idea. He said if my test came back OK and I was feeling good I could go, but ...

So, DH called and canceled it last night.

So, what's going on around here? I think I saw a yummy looking drink. Someone please have one of those for me. I went to dinner on Friday with my girlfriend (1 of the 3 Malibu Girls) and while we were waiting for our table she had a couple of drinks, I told her I could SMELL the Malibu on her breath - OK so it was FAKE Malibu (Parrot Bay), but still. YUM!!!

It must be in the air again cause #2DS woke me up at 2:30 this morning :sad2:

Don't forget us losers when you become rich ;)

I'm already bored again today.
I've already started cleaning the house and doing the laundry :scared:

Keep your fingers crossed! I know that depending on your sugar levels, you may be able to control it with diet vs. insulin shots. I too am a needle phobic but learned how to do it to myself in case I had to give myself insulin & DH wasn't around. He offered to shoot me  But I think he'd have too much fun  The worst part wasn't even the needles, it was the micro-managing of everything I ate. What I would do between now & your 3 hour appt is really keep an eye on what you are eating. http://chinese-school.netfirms.com/diabetes-gestational-diet-plan.html is a website with a sample idea of a daily diabetic diet. Watch your portion sizes and switch to a "sugar-free" option if available - I loved Sugar free popsicles/fudgsicles while I pg. By watching what you eat between now & the appt. you may be able to get your body to adjust and then pass the test. Just follow some type of diet until the baby is born. While it is not harmful to the baby, the concern with gestational diabetes is that the extra sugar goes to the baby and you end up having a bigger baby - higher risk of C-section with a bigger baby. The reason for insulin shots vs. pill form is that with the pill, the meds go to the infant instead of being absorbed by you and helping you. Injected insulin is the only route if you end up needing meds. Good things is your body usually returns to normal non-diabetic state pretty much immediately after giving birth. Bad thing, you are higher risk of getting age-onset diabetes later in life. Good luck! I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you till after Friday!

Morning fellow losers.

Lara and Tink, I hope you get a nice nap today.

malibuconlee, I hope the test goes well.

Katie cut her toe on something last night. Came downstairs, limping and bloody. We slapped some Neosporin on it and a Hello Kitty band-aid.

Goofy girl-chick peeled off the band-aid, then pulled the little cut flap of skin back. She half skinned her own big toe. She's Neosporined up again and re-Hello Kitty band-aided up (for the second time this morning...grrrrr). I hope they aren't playing kickball again today.

Twin--:cheer2: on the WoF! Remember to thank the Losers for all our support when you're on tv:rotfl:
Malibu--Don't worry about the test. I failed the 1st one, too and then did fine on the 3-hour one because I fasted. Bummer about the shower, though. Maybe they can have a video shower? That's what a friend's family did. They got together and had the shower anyway, video-taped it all and then wrapped the gifts and shipped them and the video. It was cute.

Today I'll have to actually clean something, I guess. I really need to iron but I'll wait til tomorrow when it's cold and grey. Just seems wrong to iron on a warm sunny day. Maybe I'll even get out and work in the garden. I also have to run to Target for DH's prescription later but I'll be around here for a while (maybe all day!).

IAHD - thanks, I've bookmarked that page. Hopefully I'll pass my three hour test and all my worry will be for nothing. I know two of the guys my DH works with have had babies in the last year and a half and they both failed the first, but passed the second test.
