I have been going to Myrtle Beach every May for years now with a friend of mine. We used to rent a 'villa' at a campground. They were very nice and homey. Each of us would have our own bedroom and bathroom, there was always a nice deck to sit out on, they were located right on the beach, and were cheaper than renting a condo.

The problem with them was that those palmetto bugs always found a way to got in. Neither one of us are very brave around bugs so this posed a problem when we encountered one.

We managed though until one time about 5 yrs ago, I had just went to bed (after doing a bug check which consisted of throwing back the covers and looking under and over the bed.) I had just started to dose off when I felt something on my cheek. I put my hand on my face and felt something cold and wet.

It was a freakin' palmetto bug sitting on my face! I sat up the rest of the night and the next day we checked into a condo and have been staying there ever since.

We get mostly yellow jackets around here. I found a small nest a little while ago and I'll be sure to take care of that thing after dark.

If you find a way to get rid of wasps for good please let me know. I'm sick of the nasty things.
