Hi everyone,
I'm am looking for a hotel in DC for the third week in March. I am willing to pay $200 max but would really like to find one cheaper than that. I am looking for somewhere close to the Metro, safe to walk outside at night, and clean. I would like to stay in DC but would consider other areas as long as a Metro was close by and could get me into the city fast. Could anyone recommend a hotel for me?

Thanks in advance,
Stephanie

Are you looking for downtown DC, Capitol Hill, or any specific neighborhood?

Try the Hilton Garden Inn, which is right across the street from the McPherson Square Metro station. There's also a Club Quarters very close to Farragut West that's OK.

I was going to post some thread links about DC for you but there are quite a few so you might try doing a search for washington DC. You'll come up with some good ideas in there.

You might also try tripadvisor.com for some hotel information.

We were there last summer but we stayed in Manassas at a Residence Inn. We had to drive in about 20 minutes to get to a Metro station but we loved where we were.

I love the Marriot Wardman Park Hotel. It is right by the Zoo and a metro station; and away from most of the hustle and bustle. The rooms are expensive but I am sure you can find a deal there.

I have stayed at the Marriott Wardman Park, and it was a great location. Easy acccess to the metro. Walked to the zoo. Felt very safe in the area.

We stayed at both the Hilton Garden Inn mentioned above and the Grand Hyatt last summer. Grand Hyatt has a Metro entry connected to their lobby -it is a little closer to the mall, but both were very nice.

I got the Grand Hyatt on Priceline for $89 per night - there are some bidding advice sites with good info on D.C.
