Washer recommendations

I am in the market for a new washer and I am so confused about what kind to pick. I like the LG top loader and also the LG front loader. Both are around $800. Does anyone own these? Do you like them? I am open to other suggestions as well but I would like to not spend more than $900 which rules out a lot of the front loaders. I did see that the Whirlpool Duet and the Frigidaire Affinity are around the same price as the LG so I am going to go look at those in person too. But it is hard to tell how reliable they are from just looking! I do a LOT of laundry so I want something that is energy efficient and that cleans well. I don't care too much about vibrations because the washer and dryer is in our basement so it isn't like we really feel it. I have had a Samsung and it really didn't clean well and it was recommend by consumer reports so now I am a little wary about their washer recommendations. Thanks for any help!

We just had a minor repair to the Whirlpool Estate washer in our rental. The repairman said although brands like LG have all the bells and whistles they can be harder and more costly to repair. He recommended Whirlpool or Speed Queen.

I really don't have any recommendations, because Samsung would have been my recommendation. I've had mine nearly 3 years, and I couldn't possibly be happier with it. Sorry you had trouble with yours :(

Thank you. I never would have thought about repairs being difficult on LG. Maybe I should look more into the Whirlpool Duet then. That is in the same price range and I think they have been around the longest. Thanks.

I have the LG top loader and love it! I got it on sale for $650 about a year and half ago. I think it cleans really well. One negative review was holes appear in clothing. Since I got it, this did happen once but the shirt was an older shirt so could be coincidence. The capacity is amazing and still cleans well. My only complaint? My dryer won't dry a full washer of towels, I have to split the load into 2 dryer loads. We air dry most of our clothes so this is only an issue with towels for us. Another plus-it has delayed wash up to 11 hours I think. I like to throw a load in before bed and have it ready to be hung up or go to the dryer when I get up in the morning without it sitting overnight and getting smelly or I'll do the same for when I get home from work. It has a lot of settings, uses minimal water, but does have a setting if you like more water. I have been very please with mine.

Thank you! I have a dryer so the issues there won't be a problem for us. I did like all the settings in the LG top loader when I looked at the store. The price was nice too. Glad to hear a positive review about it because I don't know anyone who owns one. Thank you!

Just found an Electrolux on sale at Sears for 799. Anyone have an Electrolux?

We have had our Electrolux set for probably 5-6 years. We love it. We bought it because of the drum size capacities. We have never had an issue. I just now figured out to do the delay start though. Lol! It's a nice feature

Also I wanted to add that I think 799 is a good price. We paid $2500 for the washer, dryer and two pedestals. Granted this was our first ever new washer/ dryer purchase and we wanted to
Grow into our washer when we had a family. It was the biggest on the market at the time. Not sure if it is still the largest or not now

We replaced our old top loader with a whirlpool duet front loader and so far we love it. We have had it just about a year now.
