Washer/Dryers at BWV

We will be staying at BWV in two weeks. This time we are staying a studio. Could someone tell me were the washer and dryers are, and are they coin operated or free like the other "Home away from Home" Villas?

They are located on the first floor and you don't need money to operate them. They are limited in number. You will need to provide your own detergent, fabric softener.

Thank you Deb and Bill for the quick answer about the washer and dryers at BWV. We usually stay at OKW or WLV, also POFQ and CBR. We like to do our laundry before we go home. So once again thank you.

Yes they are free. They are for DVC members but I'm assuming if you're paying cash you could also use them.

They will tell you where they are located when you check in.

I saw a picture of the washers at SSR, and they looked like they were coin operated. Are they also free at SSR?

If they are the same as at the other DVC hotels, they look like they take money but they really don't. I always get the one bedroom so we have the washer and Dryer but I did see the ones at the boardwalk to see what they looked like.

Yes they will take coin BUT you do not need to put it in to make it work. Just slide the push bar that the coin would normally go in and it will start right up. There are two normal size washers and one bigger front load washer. And 6 dryers...could be 8 but I'm pretty sure it was 6. These look like the ones at the value resorts. One on top and one on bottom. Again they look like you need money BUT you don't.
And the room has a table to fold on and a TV. It does have a machine to purchase soap if you need it. There is two chairs in there too. I put clothes in one washer and went back to the pool area. Someone else was washing clothes too and was not in the room waiting so I saw no need to stand there. I checked on it a few times and think it was about a 28 minute wash cycle.

I can't wait to stay there again. I had the best view...second floor above Big River Grill....could see the EPCOT ball and parts of Illumanations at night. Never heard any noise from Big River Grill.

FYI- there was a thread like this on the DVC page and they ask that you not give out the exact location since they are free but only to people staying in the villas. There is a little controversy over non-DVC guests using the free washers and making it impossible for DVC members to get in there. But yes they look like they take money but are free.

Sorry, i didn't know I shouldn't give out the location When we rented a BWV studio we needed to do laundry & used it then. If another guest hadn't been there & told us, we would have had no idea it was free. It's hard to see that anyone other than villa guests would use it--it was even a long haul from our studio room!

Believe me if it gets spread around the Internet it will get abused. I mean good grief, look at what people will do to not buy soda, aka mug issues.

Any chance you would remove the location listed above.
