Was using points at another Disney resort worth it?

We used points for poly lvc last summer and it was worth every point. It was a magical way to end our trip, watching the glowing castle all night long from our window, and awakening to breakfast overlooking the GF, and the Castle. The poly rooms are ageing but the location is the best.

I am using points for a high cat ship room on my upcoming cruise, 590 pts to be exact and again every one of them are worth it.

If you think the stress of renting is worth the money saved then by all means do it that way. Having fun with our dvc points are priority#1

For future trips, if i find that I splurged my points too much I will just do the sun-thurs thing to catch up

We purchased an add-on contract at BCV before the price increase and could not bank all of the points. So we needed a December trip to use up those not banked. No way I wanted to let them go to waste. Yes, they could have been rented, but why not enjoy them ourselves? We were on waitlists at each on-property DVC resort (both studio and 1 bedroom) and could not get the string of days we needed (our travel dates were shoe horned in between other stuff). So we checked and found that we could get a savannah view AKL for those dates!!! That meant borrowing some points to get the ressie, but we were still quite pleased.

So to answer, yes it was worth it. We consider AKL to the best themed resort on property. Can't get enough of those animals!!
