Was Tinkerbell Patterned after Marilyn Monroe?

I just entered a quiz at Disney Collectibles Group and one of the questions was who was Tinkerbell patterned after. I chose Marilyn Monroe. Is that the correct answer as it seems the vintage Disney Tinkerbell statues look just like Marilyn Monroe. Am I right? Let me know if you know.
