Hi Pete. Just listened to your entire podcast on POFQ. WOW! We are scheduled for next week. We too have stayed there before April 2008 and have enjoyed ourselves. Have requested Bldg. 4 as this was the first building we stayed in. We had a corner room facing the sidewalk out to the courtyard. It was truly a quiet, charming hotel with great boat service. Jazz at night was fun--kids enjoyed it too. Pool, hot tub, bus service were great.
Stayed again in Bldg. 3 and had two rooms next to each other. Mousekeeping was not that great and the rooms definitely need updating. Maybe it's like the song by Sade--"Never as Good as the First Time." Our party had to be split (we had 5) hurricane Faye hit no big deal as Animal Kingdom was still open. I like to consider our family troopers!!
Let me ask you this--Was Bldg. 7 refurbed when you stayed in January?? Queen beds?? Have requests for room location on reservation and now am worried--I know it's not guaranteed, but please do not charge us for queens when we are in doubles!!
I will bring a copy of my confirmation number email along with me. Tried to look it up yesterday and the computer said I had no reservation. Needless to say, I called to confirm they did not lose our reservation and she said she had it. A copy was sent to another email acct. I have, not the one I made the reservation with which I find very interesting.
Everyone here is very excited to try POFQ again in a refurb room, but I will keep my eyes open. Did anyone ever get back to you or look into the food situation? Oil on omelets is definitely a turn-off for us. That's gross and the two cooks behavior questionable.
Thanks for your candid review!
