I remember one in previous years (except, of course, the one year they didn't have the lights at all). Was there one in 2004? and if so, when was it? I just realized we'll be in WDW 11/19 (Sat) through 12/1 this year, and since I'm have an AP, I could go-IF there might be one. Anyone know from last year?

No there wasn't. I was down there the week before OL opened (11/14 - 11/21) and called the passholder line while there to see if there would be an ap preview and was told under normal circumstances there would have been one, but there wasn't one this year due to the staff being occcupied with the Stich's Great Escape ap preview.

Thanks for the info! So it sounds like "you're telling me there's a chance!" (DH's fave line from "Dumb and Dumber"). I loved the AP preview I went to a few years ago-let's hope they reinstate it this year.

I was there the night everyone on the DIS said was AP preview night. It wasn't but a nice CM mentioned the lights would be on that weekend and would not be publicized. We went there and there were no crowds.

I will tell you what we did and I LOVED it!!
I registered DH and I for the Spectacle of Lights pin event.
This event was $50 pp and held before the Osbourne Lights was open to the public.
Of course if you are not into pins, you won't care so much for the daytime pin event. But as our event perks paid attendees were allowed on the NYC street, AFTER regular park hours, with a special turning on the lights ceremony. Followed by being able to view and roam around the Osbourne LIghts all we wanted. Under a block long canopy of lights we enjoyed an all you care to eat dessert buffet and beverage bar. Good hot cocoa, cider, coffee, ice cream, cobbler, cookies, etc, beautiful lights, NOT crowded. (Probably limited to 750 guests.) And as a parting gift each attendee received a beautiful 5 pin boxed gift set of Christmas ornament-like pins.

We had a great time and I can't wait to do it again!
 :wizard:
Great way to take wonderful photos of that area.
And there are a few roaming characters too. Stitch was there in addition to street performers.
Later we went to see the Osbourne Lights and even on a less crowded night, it was very crowded. The pin event really spoiled us. princess:

Oh yeah!! Each attendee also received a Quick and Casual lunch voucher. We still have ours to use. We took a more leisurely lunch at Prime Time that day as we knew we would not have time for dinner, but would have desserts that evening!
