Was Star Tours refurbished and if so will the new version make me motion sick?

But the new film, with the 3D, does make it feel different. I can ride it once, barely. Sometimes I have to close my eyes towards the end of the ride. Oddly, it doesn't bother my dd, who has tossed her cookies in my car more times than I can count.

The OP asked if it was rougher after the refurb, to which I addressed it has not physically changed. It is not rougher. Now it is possible the new movies could bother someone more now than they did before - I have vertigo and get nauseous fairly easily, and yet it does not bother me. I don't think one will know until they try it. If it begins to bother you close your eyes. But the OPs only question was concern about physical moving about in the simulator being rougher than before, no that is basically the same.

I don't want to scare you away, but...

I am very resistant to motion sickness, but for some reason, ST made me feel a little funky. I don't think it was the motion at all. It seemed to me like they tried to amp up the 3D effect so much that it was a little hard to focus on the screen and what was happening in the scenes. Combine that with the motion, and it was weird. Not to the point that I was sick, at all, but definitely noticeable. The motion doesn't seem bad at all.

I think I'll try it and close eyes if I have trouble. Also might try that Dramamine stuff. spelling?

I never get motion sickness but cannot ride Star Tours. The 3d movie makes me very nauseas. The ride itself is not bad, just the 3d for me.

For me, the old version made me feel way worse. I get motion sickness pretty easily, and both the new version of ST and the Dland version (rode in Feb), were great! I wouldn't push my luck with riding more than once, but really enjoyed the one time riding!

Do you get motion sickness from the movement of the simulator, or from the visuals? If it's the simulator, you could try the front row. The movement is definitely less pronounced in the front. In the back, you can feel the simulator much more.

Of course, in the front, the visuals are much more striking, so if the 3D might make you sick, try the back.
