Was MS right about this?

Welll, I thought I could start calling today to get a day by day waitlist, but I was told I had to wait until tomorrow because it would be the check out day. for 12/7-12/12.

The CM I had on the phone was not very nice. She asked if it was for 1 night and I said yes because I was going to be calling day by day to get on the waitlist. She said "Oh no, we don't do that. You have to call on May 13 and get on the waitlist for the entire 5 night stay. We don't do day by day."

What!!! I thought all kinds of members have made day by day ressies before? What gives?

I called this am to get on the waitlist for the first day of our day by day calling. I requested a 2bdrm and a studio for 12/7. We are actually staying 12/7-12. The only thing is that the very nice CM I spoke with said that once one of the requested units is filled from the waitlist, the other request would be canceled. WHAT! I told him we needed both units and couldn't he specify that. He said that no, once one was filled the other was removed.
I even made the request under two seperate names, although both using my points. Now I have to watch very carefully to see if anything comes through, because I will need to call back immediately and get back on the waitlist for the other unit. This is driving me crazy! Any suggestions?

If you want to check in on Dec. 7 you can book that day on May 8. Yes, you can call day-by-day. Call back tomorrow and begin your day-by-day reservation. If you get that CM again, hang up and call back.

I'm on day 3 of my VB 2br reservation for next Spring Break. So far I have had 2 CM who seemed to know what they are doing, but the one yesterday. Though I was her 2nd call of the morning and the second day by day VB person. She had a total fixation on a waitlist for another trip, she brought it up twice. Maybe she has a thing about waitlists and changing or cancelling them(they're evil and create more work, I don't know ).

Does anyone know if this is accurate or have they had any experience with this? Does it make a difference if you make a day by ressie and leave them as individual days versus linking them all together on the last day? I can see how that may drop you down on the list because it might tie all the days you were calling into one ressie on the last day. Who knows?

Fellow Buckeye! I don't know about that as this is only the 2nd time I've used the waitlist and I do the whole length of the trip, one phone call.

I called MS on Monday to make my Thanksgiving/Dec trip ressie and was able to get all but the last night at OKW (counted wrong)got the last night at SSR(home resort) as a back up. I waitlisted BCV as that's what we really want for that trip.

On Tuesday I called back and said I wanted to get that last night at OKW, and she knew that I wanted to cancel the SSR ressie as soon as OKW went thru. Once that was done I told her that I was on the waitlist already for BCV and I'd like that last night waitlisted as well. I then said "unless that's going to drop me down the waitlist" she said "no, it won't drop you. I just modified the reservation"

I figure it was only one day so even if I did drop down on the waitlist, it shouldn't be too far. But she did seem to know what she was doing and was very quick and efficient. This is my first time using the waitlist so I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope for pixie dust
