DH Mark and I leave for the DVC Member Cruise this Thursday.

We have a DIS meet scheduled for 3pm Saturday at the Beach Club and then we sail with a great DIS group on Sunday 9/21.

As in the past we'll be doing live reports from the ship.

Woo Hoo - work is done and we are on vacation. Going out for our traditional dinner out before vacation. Then a good nights sleep and we leave bright and early tomorrow morning. The road trip for tomorrow looks like it will be good weather. Much nicer than all the rain we had last year. I'm so ready for this!

Greetings from Macon, GA!

We had a very nice drive down. Weather was perfect! No problems with gas at all.

Two nasty delays that luckily were reverse direction from us. One was Northbound 65 that had all lanes blocked when a Semi creamed a small red car. Then coming out of the mountains also Northbound 65 also had the road closed with a back up all the way to the rest area (a good 3-5 miles). Yikes! Hope all involved were not hurt.

Made very good time and got in her just shy of 8 pm Eastern. A good nights sleep and we'll be on the road nice and early and should be in WDW some time tomorrow afternoon.

As for the gas situation. Like I said no real problem. Stopped in Effingham, IL and got gas for $3.99 a gallon. Stopped in Clarksville, TN. This station (BP) only had regular and it was $4.15 but as I said a few days ago I paid $4.23 at home. Last stop was in Dalton, GA and we paid $3.99 again. So the prices are high but not crazy, each station had gas and no lines.

Ok off to do some more reading and then to bed.

We made it to WDW! A very nice uneventful drive down and we got to Beach Club at noon. The room wasn't ready so we headed over to the Poly and lunch at Kona Cafe. Then off to the Magic Kingdom for a short bit. We got the call about 3 that the room was ready so back to the Beach Club we went. After a short rest in the room we headed over to Epcot to catch the Off Kilter show and then had dinner at the Captains Grill at the Yacht Club.

We're now back in the room relaxing after a long day.

Tomorrow we plan on going over to the Studios to see the new Toy Story ride, then relaxing by the pool for a bit. Our pre-cruise DIS meet is at 3pm and I'm so looking forward to not only seeing old friends again but also meeting so many of the wonderful new people that are cruising this year. We really have a great group.

After the meet a small group of us are having Mass said for us by one of our fellow DISers. After that a slightly larger group is getting together for dinner at Cape May.

Then Sunday is the big day...SSMC08 sets sail!
