Confused, because I didn't think that the restaurants were open during MVMCP but I was just able to get CRT at 7pm on November 14th, which has a Christmas party starting at 7pm. No where on the reservation, does it SAY that this is a special ticked event.Do I have to buy a special party ticket to dine at CRT at 7pm? If I didn't know any better about MVMCP, how would anyone have a clue? The reservation just isn't marked.

I haven't done it myself, but since the park closes for regular guests and opens for the party at 7p you might find yourself in a pickle.

I've seen mention that they won't seat you after 6:45p on party nights. If you can bump it up I would to be safe. Better than getting into the situation the day of, at the castle, with family in tow.

I do think it kind of stinks about it not showing on the reservation for dining, but it is listed on the park hours and party event info. I imagine the dining system just stays the same throughout all special events with the same basic info.

We had the same problem with BOG and MNSSHP, our ressie was at 7pm. When I rang them back and asked they said that I would need tickets to keep the reservation.

You will not be able to dine at 7pm without a party ticket. (And if you have a party ticket an ADR at 7pm isn't a good idea, but that is another topic)

I just tried to make an ADR for that night and got this warning:

Your reservation occurs during a special event, which requires a separate admission ticket for park entry. Please ensure all members of your dining party hold tickets for this event.

Not sure why you wouldn't have got the warning, although it wasn't a pop-up or anything, it was just a sentence on the confirmation page. I would try for an earlier reservation. Since CRT is prepaid, it would be awful to get to the podium and be told that you need party tickets.

Okay, so say I bought a party ticket, why would an ADR at 7pm on a night of party be a bad idea? The party is until midnight right? So I should be done with dinner no later than 8/8:30??

Most people will say that spending 20-25% of the party time in a restaurant is not practical considering the party tickets are around $55-$60 per person. There are so many party exclusive activities - parade, fireworks, dance parties, meet and greets with rare characters, treats - that the time flies by. Also, if you have young children it's possible they won't last until midnight so it's better to get started on party activites early.

We've done both & I think both on the same night would be great fun! Keep the ADR & buy a party ticket! The party ticket lets you into the park at 4 (party events don't start til 7)...for me, 4pm - 12 is plenty :)

You can enter the park at 4, but since the party activities don't start til 7, it is not a good use of time to miss and hour or 2 of the actual party to eat. It is an expensive party and there is A LOT to see and do between 7 - 12.

Oh no! We have BOG ressies at 6:50 on a party night! I thought as long as it was before 7pm we would be fine? Is this not the case? This is our last night of vacation and the only day and time I could get at 180+10. What if we are at the podium at 6:40 ish?

Yours is fine! Only ADR's from 7pm on require a party ticket.

You have no idea how fast 7-12 goes on a party night  You have to factor in the time you'll spend waiting in line for character M & G's ( and many characters there only come out for parties) waiting for the parade ( which is wonderful) waiting for Wishes to begin, and waiting for any of the special shows they offer that you want to see. Also, if you were in the castle until 8, 8:30, I believe you'd miss the 1st parade (although I could be remembering incorrectly :)) Considering all this, spending any of that time eating, other than a quick CS meal, is considered by many a waste of time and $$. To each his own, and I totally understand not wanting to give up CRT if that's the only time you can get during your trip, but I'd still suggest cancelling and continuing to search for a different time. Remember, times often become available as you get closer to your arrival date. Have a great trip!

Whether it says so or not, if you do not have a party ticket they will not seat you for an ADR at 7 or after. (From what's been done in the past I believe they will seat you with a reservation time before 7. Some restaurants may be using a different time but I haven't seen any widespread reports of this.)

If you wish to buy the party ticket just to hang onto the CRT reservation, that is up to you. There will be attractions and other things open during the party to see. Without planning for judicious use of your party time, you will likely not be able to meet the special characters or get a good spot for parades or shows.

Yeah i have CRT on a party night but its at 540 because i do not want to miss the festivities of MVMCP and neither does my DD
