Was I the only one who watch The Swan Pageant last night?

omg..what a pile of...um...swan crap.

"If the swan is unable to fulfill her duties, the second runner up will take her place"
Um - what are these duties?

They totally blew who 'won' too before the crowning. For one - the voting was so obvious - both the top 2 were getting nothing less then 9.6's

and secondly - when they were showing clips of their 'fabulous prizes worth hundreds of thousands of dollars'...the "$50k in education" (whatever that was) clip had a picture of the winner, Rachael, in it.

I dunno - I just through it was a bunch of crap - they all looked like plastic barbies up there IMO.

They did look kind of scary, though. I couldn't help but think that some of them looked a LOT like Kelsey Grammar's wife! I'm convinced this kind of work is what BUILT Hollywood.

I agree about the voting, too, stinkerbelle. No matter what the top two did or how they looked they got TOP numbers. The winner was nowhere near the best or the most extreme change. But she kept getting the highest numbers....

Darn not being able to find that darned remote!!!

I caught a little of it including all the "great" stuff the winner recieved. The Jaguar was sweet but other than that what a pile of dung!

1. The "permanent surprised look" due to a face lift

or

2. The permanent "deer caught in headlights" look due to the face lift.

And another thing -- just because your breasts are the same size as your head and defy gravity in a super-hero comic book fashion, does NOT mean you are beautiful.

Sorry, I guess I am just a poor sport with this show. It just bothers me, though. Yes, we all want to look good, but tying a woman's self worth directly to her physical appearance just seems so wrong and putting women back a zillion light years.

heheh - I totally agree with you!

but, honestly - some of the..um..breast enhancements didn't look all that enhanced when they were out of their evening gowns and 'lets suck pushed everything sky-high" undergarments.

some had 'normal' sized, normal looking breasts in the bikinis competition.

omg...i can NOT belive I'm actually talking about this. hehehe

What a horrible message this show sends to the young girls watching:

You know, I kept thinking that the two finalists really weren't that unattractive to start with. All they needed was a new hairstyle and some make-up.

Also, where did the "hostess" come from? Her accent seemed to come and go. I guess plastic surgery on the vocal chords has not been perfected yet!

I think she's from Ireland. I kind of noticed it when this show started and I checked on the internet and she was on a tv show in Ireland, so I think that's where she's from. I think she is trying to not have an accent.

Snoopy, I agree with you. I think it is great that they worked out in the gym, but totally changing your entire appearance before you can feel good about yourself. ..... kind of scary. JMHO.
