Was Feeling SAD now am Happy

I was deeply saddened yesterday when my 10 yr old DD came home from school yesterday upset. She and 2 of her friends were sitting in the theater waiting for an assembly to start. She said they weren't talking, just sitting there and they glanced in the direction of a substitute teacher and when he saw them look at him he said to them "what are you looking at freaks!" I was horrified that someone the kids are supposed to look up to would act like a kid himself! I spent the longest time reassuring my daughter that she is not a freak last night!
Well the good news is I called the school today to talk to them about the issue and apparently that was not the only issue that happened yesterday, several parents from the 4th grade class he was subbing in called the school or went to the school to complain that this man had actually cursed their classroom out also!! So now, this man will no longer be allowed to sub at their school! I don't know whether to be more happy that he is no longer going to be there or be more sad that it happened to begin with!!

What a creep! Who talks to kids like that??

i'm so sorry for your DD i hope knowing that awful man won't be back at her school will make her feel a little better. unfortunately, it is not uncommon. DD12's science teacher (this is her first year at DD's school) yells a LOT, from what DD says. i thought she was exaggerating, but i have a friend who substitutes there on a regular basis, and she confirmed what DD said-apparently, this woman can be heard all over the 6th grade hall. i'm hoping her first year will be her last.

Glad that got rid of him - too bad background checks don't pick up on losers taht treat kids badly with language too!
