I have set up a Miles/Minutes spreadsheet for any Warriors that want to participate. This would just be for us, not comparing numbers with other teams, just within ourselves. This is just for those Warriors who would like to do it, you do not HAVE to participate. If you would like to do this please PM me or email me at WISHerTracy@gmail.com. It starts with January and goes all the way to December. You are allowed to double your miles for any race that you participate in.

Jim - Sorry I got you sick.;) Hope you're feeling better soon!

Amanda - This is obviously a little late...but...WELCOME TO THE WARRIORS!!:cheer2:

Thanks for all the "welcome back's". I sure missed being around. Going from near 20 miles a week to less than 20 a month was sure a shock to me mentally. It drove me crazy not to be able to work out at all!

We were hired to be mentors with the C25K No Boundaries group, which has been a nice easy way to get back to running. Last night was a 1.75 workout. We have been having a lot of fun helping out.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Howdy Warriors,

Welcome to Spring!!! It has finally warmed up here in Bloominton,IL. I am able to run in shorts & t shirt, WooHoo.

I hope everyone has a great Easter Weekend.

Stan:cool1:

Hey Stan, Michelle and Kathy!! Glad to see you over on April's Thread.

It's easter Morning and time for all things to be born anew and that is what I am working on for myself. I know I haven't been around much and I do apologize. Too much to go into, but things in my life have just drained me and my emotional self. Been a bit down. I am working on getting back to "me" which I haven't been for some months now.

Hope everyone has a great day and for those who celebrate, Happy Easter.:goodvibes

Tracy

Good Morning again

Just finished our morning walk. We were able to do 8 miles. :cool1: This is the longest I have walked. My husband started earlier and he was able to do 8.85 miles by himself and then the 8 with me. Our pace was still at 18 but on Sundays we are working on distance right now and then on Tuesdays and Fridays we will work on speed and form.

Hope everyone else have a great day.

Kathy

Michelle - Thanks for the welcome!
Stan - Hooray for beautiful weather! It certainly helps with the motivation.
Tracy - I hope you feel better.:grouphug:
Kathy - That's awesome! Happy Easter to you, too!

I missed working out Fri and Sat but managed to get a run in today. The little one was up during the night with a fever so I was super tired. But I did it anyway. I'm proud of myself for sticking with this!

Amanda

Good Morning Warriors- It's Spring Break for us this week which leaves me alot of time on my hands (especially since I pushed last week to get the house clean for company yesterday). It's nice enough to run outside again today- yeah!! Sometime this week is my 10 miles for Flying Pig I hope the weather holds- it' so much nicer to do it outside that a million laps around the Y track. Although the logistics are much easier indoors LOL.

I'd love advice! I've been doing ok with the C25K program. No real issues so far. I decided to try running early in the morning because my week is crazy. I was supposed to do w7d3 today. Another 25 min run. I've already done 3 of those. They weren't easy but they weren't too bad either. This morning I had nothing. I struggled to run for 10 min. I walked the rest of the way. I did end up going 2.24 miles in 35 min but I feel so frustrated! Any ideas, suggestions, advice?

Thanks,
Amanda

Tracy -:hug::hug: Hope it all gets better soon. You deserve to be your usual happy self! :flower3:

AFM - I am so happy to be getting back to my normal workouts...you have no idea! Got in 9 miles on Sunday (that was my total after three runs.) I did 1.5with the beginner group, 3.5 with my running group and then 4 more later with the second beginner session. I did 2 at the gym yesterday followed by 30 minutes of weights. And I am very excited because tonight after speed drills at the track, we are going swimming! :woohoo: for tri season!

Have a great week Warriors!:cheer2:

hey Warriors! Only did 2 instead of 5 Saturday. Have a half this Saturday adn am babying a blbister. It hyrt, I stopped. :-p

Kathy - Way to go on teh 8!!!! That's awesome!

Pam - Hope you don't haveour rain this week adn you can get that 10 9n outside!

Amanda - great job getting that work out in!!

Michelle - Yay fro getitng abck on track!!!! Good luck with the swim!

Tracy - Very much looking forward ot having the real you back!

Stan - Yay for teh great weather! It's aweesome here too!

Amanda first off don't panic. If you were to read back through all of our threads (i don't recommend it!) then you would see that every one of us has had a run just like that. Sometimes, for a reason completely unknown to you a run doesn't go well. It can be something totally below the radar-especially in the morning. If you had a tea the night before that wasn't substantial then by the morning you could be left low in energy ( i don't eat before morning runs- not sure about you), or maybe you didn't have a great sleep. One issue i've definitely had is that I've been dehydrated before morning runs because unfortunately when you sleep you don't drink.... so after 7 hours of sleep you're all dried up! Anyway- you'll probably find that without changing anything your next run is back to normal, of not that one then the one after. Don't worry, keep at it, you have done the runs and can do them so don't create a mental block. Chin up!

Tracy found myself thinking of you a lot later- don't feel pressured to 'bounce back' take your time, know where you're at and that we're here whatever!

kathy that was an awesome walk, your DH too. Your strategy sounds brilliant.

Michelle can#t believe how quickly you're back at it! You little inspiration :)

Pam oooh running outside in spring break sounds amazing. Glad the weather's looking up. We randomly had snow last week, not quite sure what's with our weather!

me got a 3.2miler on the TM done before work, unfortunately with shin twinges. They've returned since i had physio on thursday. He found a knot in my calf (which wasn't bothering me!) squished it and now it is bothering me! I paid for that pleasure too!!!! Oh well toddle on hey. Had a family gathering on sunday (oh i ran then too) and asked my cousins if they would be my bridesmaids so that was very exciting! I've gone fully family with my older sister too so it feels perfect. So exciting, get to put my dress on on thursday again as my sister is trying bridesmaids ones so clearly i have to be in mine he he he. I'm somewhat over prepared!

Hope the easter bunny visited you all!

Amanda

Don't give up. There is plenty of time to get ready. I only started in January and I do get upset that I do not have the speed walking yet but I am getting the miles in and I know the speed will come.

Good Luck

Kathy

Hi Warriors! Hope everyone had a great weekend. We had fantastic weather and that made it even better for us.

Tracy, hoping you find your mojo somewhere. Take some time then make it happen! Remember, one step at a time, one happy thought at a time.

Amanda, guess everyone else has given you the best advice. Hope you can get to feeling energized again.

Kate, what a great time to be able to try on the Wedding gown while DSis will be trying out dresses. Fun Hope the shins are better.

Carrie, hope your blister heals in time for the weekend half. See you there!

Slow in the training department, but I'm doing what I can at the moment. Lots of life's busy-ness happening here.

Thank you everyone for the encouragement. I guess I just worried since the half-marathon is super early in the morning. My youngest has not been sleeping at all recently and I've spent many nights sleeping on his floor. I guess my whole body feels off. I may try to get a nice walk in this afternoon and then run tomorrow.
Work is super busy and more so because I'm off to Disney early Friday morning (I have a really interesting work conference at YC all day on Sunday!!!).
I'm so grateful to everyone here!

Amanda

Happy Wednesday Warriors!

I am so sore today!! Got in 3.5 miles on the track and then hit the pool for half a mile. It felt so good to be back in the water! But like I said, 3 days of pretty heavy work outs has caught up with me. My quads are totally revolting...:headache: Oh well...I guess that just means I worked 'em out good! Will head to the gym tonight but will NOT be doing any leg work!

Thanks everyone:grouphug:, I am working on it and thinking its getting better as I took a few days over the weekend to mentally go through a lot of things.

Amanda: don't be too hard on yourself as others have said. It would be "not normal" for all your runs/walk to be fantastic. This is something of a mental game at times. You just chalk them up to an experience. They help you learn to "get through" them no matter what. Sometimes its one outting and sometimes it can be a week or so. You are going to get through it!! Keep at it!!

Tracy

Happy Friday Warriors!

After swimming on Tuesday, I asked my husband to take me to the gym and show me the machines / exercises that would really work out my shoulders so I can get stronger in the water.

Uh...yeah...not sure he was the best person to ask. My shoulders hurt SO BAD today! (So I guess that means he was the RIGHT person to ask, huh?;))

So I got in 30 minutes at the gym and 2 miles with the beginner group. Had to go really slow last night as one of the girls was dealing with shin splints. But they are all getting better and still working at it!:woohoo:

Supposed to go for the first bike ride of the season in the morning, 10k at the Zoo on Sunday morning and then the beginner group run on Sunday night. Should be a fun weekend!

I got my 10 mile long in yesterday- had to do it inside due to cold wind. I realized I hold my shoulders up while running which is what makes my upper back hurt. The problem is if I relax my shoulders my arms feel too long and inefficiant. Any ideas on how to fix the problem? Do I go with the sore back or the weird feeling arms?
