Warriors are Ringing in the New Year 2010

Welcome Pam, Courtney and Cheree!! Nice to have some more Warriors!

Our slogan is Getting it done one mouse step at a time!

It was decided that the mile/minutes challenge between teams was not going to continue.
However, if we as a team want to continue this, I have no problem setting up a spreadsheet that each person could go to and track their own stuff.

Please let me know your opinions on that one.

Also, remember that their is a WISH monthly thread, this is where EVERYONE comes together to ask questions and get LOTS of good answers and opinions. Please go over every so often and check it out.

I will be going to the ING Miami Marathon/Half Marathon expo today. This will be my 3rd time doing the Half and the third double spinner palm tree medal! whoohoo!!
I think starting in February all Warrios should put alittle about themselves n their first post, what do ya all think?

-Tracy

Courtney - Huge congrats on your first full! Are you still flying? :goodvibes

Cheree - OMG, finishing the half this year is an amazing accomplishment!!! Way to go!!!! Stillg et chills thinking of that day!

Pam - SOrry. I figured teh first name and sig pic would be enough but forgot how fuzzzy that pic is and how it blocks so much of me. PoohsPal from Tag. Was awesoem to see you guys on teh hill!

Did 30 min on TM last night and Core COnversion class #2 this am. Nort sure I like that 6 am class, but it's an amazing work out and the people are great. HOep I can move tomorrow. :rolleyes1

Welcome to the Warriors Cheree/Forthemedal, Schmorks & Bookwood!

There will be plenty of support on our team, and there are a lot of seasoned runners/walkers in our group....so if you have any questions on training, injuries, nutrition, I'm sure someone on here will be able to answer your questions.

Tracy - Good luck with your 1/2 this weekend, any other WISHER's going out there with you?

I took the week off to let my calf rest that was still hurting from the Goofy. I didn't realize how guilty I would feel, not waking up to get on the treadmill or to a spin class! Good thing I haven't signed up for any races in 2010!

Have a fun weekend Warriors! I'm off to Disneyland for my birthday weekend.:cool1:

Hi Warriors. I've been XT with snow removal and it has been quite cold here so walking in the cold has been um, interesting.

Welcome Chris, Pam, Courtney and Cheree!! Glad to have you here.

I hear Chris is going Goofy again in 2011.

Funny, our first year, it was such a struggle to get up every Saturday, eevn when away from home. Our 2nd year, we decided if we travvevled, we would skip our LRs until "real" training time hit. Know me over with a feather, we missed it! Hope that calf is healed soon! Enjoy your rest time!

Carrie - I am still flying! I still will take a glance at my medal and realize that I earned that Mickey. Couldn't imagine the feeling of accomplishment after a Dopey or Goofy weekend! :) And I noticed you're from Michigan. Me too! Don't you just love the cold? I think we're sharing it with everyone this year!

Tracy - Have a great half! Congrats on that third palm tree medal.

Marcia - Have fun at Disneyland and Happy Birthday!

The idea of reporting miles sounds good to me it is a way to keep myself accountable. Although I am planning on doing my heavy working out starting in March. Let it warm up just a little. We have had so much rain around here it has been hard to get outside and workout. Today it has been snowing all day.
When we moved to TN we were told it never snows at least never enough to make a difference. Since we got here there has been at least one snow a year. This year we have had 3 early dismissals and two snow/flood days already.
Although around here they do not have the equipment to salt and clear roads so they close school at the thought of we might have some snow.
Did not get to workout today will probably get out the Wii Active tomorrow since roads will be covered with ice for two days and won't be able to go outside safetly.

Cheree, so you brought the cold weather to TN then? Well, whenever I've been doing the events wherever we've been lately is extreme weather one way or the other. When I did Country Music half last year, it was quite hot. Disney has been record breaking hot or record breaking cold. Seattle was hot, LV was cold... It just has been something to joke about.

Courtney, glad you still enjoying your medal! I LOVE hearing it. You should enjoy it. You earned it.

Tracy, good luck in the a.m.!

Marcia, no events planned yet? Amazing. I know you just need to get over the birthday celebration.

We had celebration this weekend with DH's birthday cake and all. Today we went to Italian restaurant. Now I need to get myself settled. I cannot continue to consume like this.

Welcome to our new Team Members!

Tracy - Good luck tomorrow! I hope you enjoy your race.

Marcia - Happy Birthday and enjoy Disneyland!

Got 8 miles in yesterday again on the treadmill. It wasn't awful, but I'd still rather get outside. Still only one run outdoors since getting back.

Oh and Lily I'm still leaning towards the Half, but we'll see. :rolleyes1

Welcome to all the new Warriors! You have joined an awesome team.

Going to try my first "long run" since Goofy tomorrow. My right knee has been having a hard time forgiving me, so I've been doing spin and the elliptical instead with a few 3-5 milers thrown in there. I'm supposed to do 10 in the morning, but we shall see how the knee responds. There is no reason for me to push it. My local running group is doing a half in March, but if I have to bail on that, I won't be heartbroken.;)

:cheer2:HAVE A GREAT RACE TRACY!!!:cheer2:

and happy training to the rest of you Warriors!

Oh i've definitely left it too long since last posting! Look at all the action!

Firstly to Courtney, Pam and Cheree oh and i may not have done a shout out for Chris either so WELCOME! It's lovely to have you all with us and I hope you find this team as amazing and supportive as I have.

Tracy best of look for your 1/2, you will be awesome. Make sure you buy lots of exciting 'rewards' from the expo!

Marcia hmm sorry your calf's sore- sounds like you've been very careful with it, so fingers crossed that pays off. Hope you have a wonderful birthday wknd

Carrie can you move? can you? huh huh? Ha i think it's brilliant you can make a 6am class. No time to think your way out of it at that time in the morning!

Lily always love the cross training you guys do over there- can't even contemplate that much snow! Stay snug as a bug in a rug. You can always consume- that's was exercise is for so you can enjoy all of those special occasions without any guilt :goodvibes

Michelle good luck for your long run, look after your knee. I'm still in awe of you goofies!

mei've given myself a two week break from running to see if can resolve shin issues and 1 week in i have the cleanest house ever :lmao:. Went on the cross trainer at the gym yesterday and was so much quicker than in the past so that felt awesome! Covered 12km in 52mins which i hope is equivalent to a 10k run.

Tiger Lily- I am blaming the weather on my sister. When we did our first 1/2 at CMM it was thundering and lightening as we made our way to the runners area. At least by the time the race started it had stopped raining and turned out to be a beautiful day to race. Then we all know what happened at WDW this year. She is planning on doing DLR with me in September so maybe it won't be so hot. It seems to rain and be cold on us each time we do one.
We must have brought the weather to TN though since before we moved here they said it never snows and we have had at least one snow day a year since we moved.

Well...10 miles didn't happen. I really didn't think it would. But I got 8 done. I should have turned around sooner because my knee is SO unhappy with me right now.

Congratulations on your course record Tracy!:woohoo:

Got in about 2 miles today. I am just starting to try running. I am using the c25k app with my IPOD. Did not do as much running as I did the first time I used it, but in the 27 min. I did about 2 miles that felt good.

I have completed week 2 of my marathon training. Did a total of 22 miles last week, with an 8 miler yesterday. Last 2 miles were sub 9 minute, which was a first for me. I was pumped when I got done.

Ran a total of 75 miles for Jan. which includes WDW 1/2. I am looking forward to Feb. hope the weather is a little warmer here.
