I just enjoyed a delicious Almond Joy bar. I was looking at the wrapper and saw this warning written inside, "Candy is a treat. Please consume in moderation."
I've never seen candy warnings before and think it's pretty sad. They probably need to put it there so that people can't sue them for not telling them that candy is only a treat.
What will be next?

There is no such warning on my Milano cookies. In fact, it says, "Embrace decadent cravings. Reward yourself." :thumbsup2

And so I did!!!!! :teeth:

That's actually pretty funny. I'll have to start checking my candy wrappers now.

I wonder if it also has the warning, This ALMOND JOY contains nuts!

You know, I just got back from Bennigans and they have in large print on their menu "Consume in Moderation." I thought that was strange, too.

I got one of those on the inside of my Reese's cups package. Notice it is on the INSIDE, so you won't read it until after you have already purchased it. So it's all right for you to buy it, but you'd better think twice about eating it! I thought it was pretty silly too.

Boy, those Milano cookies...Pepperidge Farm is just ASKING for a lawsuit!

It thought it was pretty funny that it's on the inside too. Like anyone would ever tear into their candy bar and then see it and say "dang, this is just a treat?! I better put it away." Once you've got that sucker open, you're pretty well commited!

Sad isn't it? I suppose they have to cover their butts incase someone feels the need to sue them over gaining weight. There was just something in the paper again about a guy suing McD's because of his "expanding waistline". I don't blame the company....I blame myself for having no willpower!

I haven't seen it but doesn't surprise me any.

You mean I can't make a meal 24/7 out of candy and then sue for my bad health???

DRATS and here I was planning on stocking up on Halloween candy and just using that for my meals for the next couple months. :lmao:

Actually, all I keep thinking is a Cosby episode eons ago about cake for breakfast with the it has eggs, milk, etc.... :rotfl:

It's *amazing* what they have to tell people they can't do with certain items & you KNOW the reason they put that item on there is
A. someone actually did the stupid thing or
B. someone sued another company for something stupid so they are CYA's themselves before they get hit with a similar lawsuit.

The real question is does anyone actually *read* the labels anymore with all the warnings considering the warnings can be several paragraphs long (or so it seems).

You got me thinking wondering if Peanut Butter put that warning on their labels too. The jars I have don't but we have Nutty Bars in our cabinet that say ON the package "with extra peanut butter" on it.

I flip it over and sure enough there is a peanut allergy warning on it. Umm...OK. You would think that would be really obvious.

to me that warning works as well as the one on hair dryers telling you not to operate in your sleep......DUH

...at this precise moment I'd eat every candy bar I could get my hands on!

My kingdom for a Hershey's bar! :cloud9:

:thumbsup2

:Pinkbounc thanks tag fairy!!!! :Pinkbounc

feel alittle better...still needing a chocolate bar though :lmao:

Yep. Or the one on the electric drill that says, "Do not place drill tip in nostrils".........no really! It did!

I recently bought several bags of Halloween candy..........I know how much I should and shouldn't eat.........I just choose to ignore that knowledge, as I choose to ignore the warnings on the wrappers! :rotfl:

:sad2: Poptarts, they come in a package of 2, but a serving is one pastry.

When I want a candy bar warnings wouldn't help. I'm like the guy on Austin Powers telling it to come on get in my belly!

This is one of the funniest threads I've read in a long time :rotfl2:

Luckily my beer says: "It's good drinkin'" so I think I'll finish it.

I love the warning on the commercials for sleeping pills like Ambien, etc. that say not to drive or operate heavy machinery after taking it. Like you'd take a sleeping pill and say, "I think I'll go for a drive until I fall asleep." :rotfl:

We bought a carton of milk from Wild Oats. MILK was big and bold in many places on the carton. In tiny iddy biddy print....Warning: This product contains milk. Love it when they point out the obvious. (in their defense I'm sure many vegans shop there as they do also offer a variety of soy and rice milks.....but to have the warning in such small print on a carton of milk was just too darn funny).
