We just returned from a great 8 day trip to DW but had to post a warning about "Your Ride There" Limos. I have 2 children ages 2 and 4 we requested a car seat and a booster which were present at p/u but on the return trip NO CAR SEAT or BOOSTER.
As a lawyer I advised our driver this was illegal and he replied "the police only check if there is an accident"
NOT VERY REASSURING. I called the President of the Company and was told "that was the best he could come up with on short notice"
As we had no alternative we held on tight to our kids and arrived safe. IF YOU HAVE SMALL CHILDREN- DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY" I have filed a complaint with the Fla. Attorney General.
CAR SEATS ARE MANDATED BY FEDERAL LAW.
STICK WITH THE PROS- Tiffany Towne Car; Happy Limo; Mears

I have never heard of "your ride there" where did you find them?

Hi, they are a "gold" sponsor of these boards, which means they will probably delete this post. They are often is the transportation forum under the username: Rabbitsz. The website is "www.Yourride.net"

When I was looking for a Town Car Company for our vacation. I called Mears and they tolled me to bring our own car seats because they don't have then!! Do they have car seat on the Bus and Shuttles.. "No" And are they a Transportation Company too!! We call TTC and Happy Limo and both toll us that they only have Booster seats. And Happy also charges for car seats. But when we called Yourride they give us 2 car seats and 1 Booster just like we ask for.I was also tolled by Mears that is wasn't a Law in Fl.!!
To....severtaw
What happen to the car seats that you used on the plane.. You did have car seats then
didn't you if you are so wired about your kids safety!!! If you were so,so wired about "SAFETY" in a car why didn't you have them in a plane for safety too!!!
Kawabunga..

Thanks for posting your experience. Yours isn't the first complaint about them and almost every complaint included their lack of interest in clearing up a problem. They seem to be very good as long as everything goes smoothly, but then what company isn't? It's when something goes wrong that you can really measure the quality of a business. Sometimes it takes some courage to say anything negative here. There's always someone waiting in the wings to attack you for it. You'd think some of these people owned stock in the company or something....hmmmm?

I used TTC for two previous trips and had no problem with having car seats. I tried to help out a DIS Board member this time to no avail. I can't comment on what MEARS said but Federal Law would preempt State Law. I have vented and hopefully apprised a few people of this situation and I am not going to let it ruin my memories. The Fla. AG can take up the cause or perhaps some childrens safety lobby. Thanks for your comments in support.

This just makes me curious now on how busses handle (or I should say don't handle) kids & car seats.
I have never seen any kid in a car seat on a WDW bus.
I have even seen fathers refuse seats when they are standing and craddling a TINY infant in their one arm awhile hanging on with their other hand.
How are the federal laws worded?

Sorry you had a bad YourRide experience.

Car seats aren't required on commercial transportation. On vehicles like buses, the buses themselves are designed to provide extra safety when in a wreck. Unfortunately, there are no such safeguards with limos, taxis, etc. Companies that provide good service should provide requested safety seats.

All of the transportation companies experience situations such as this from time to time. Customer service and guest relations are keywords here. If Rabbitsz were a TRUE PROFESSIONAL he would not knock Mears every chance he gets...after all he did work for them at one time and earned a livelihood doing do. Mears also happens to be a member of the Better Business Bureau; YourRide is not the only tranportation BBB member.

Its a shame that someone can't say something informative or negative without getting attacked. I don't fly often, but i have never seen a car seat on a plane, nor did my youngest use one when she was two or three. I don't think a car seat will help much if the plane goes down anyway. If a car seat was requested and provided on the trip out, it should have been on the trip back. If someone out there isn't "WIRED" about their childrens safety, then they shouldn't be a parent. If someone out there is related to the transportations service industry and doesn't care about a childs safety, then they should get out. Its truley shameful the attack placed on a person for being upset about the safety of a child. Seems like the magic wore off for some people.:( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

As i was looking under the topic, "towncar coupon/charge card", i couldn't help but notice that the reply from one of the posters which appeared to represent a transportation company matched the writing style of someone highly critical to the starter of this post. The spelling of "tolled" in each post and the like of ending sentences with multiple periods was unique to each (like this...) As someone else posted, hmmmmmmmmm. :teeth:

I rarely give much weight to the opinions of someone with only a few posts (and there are several of them in this thread).

OK...now its my turn.. To **********. Lets tell the hole story. When you and your family came in on 10/25 Roger was there with 2 CAR SEATS for you. Then when you were ready to leave Roger was there with 2 CAR SEATS again for you and your family going back to the airport. And then you called me about 30min later and tolled me that your flight going home was canceled could we come back to the airport to bring you and your family
back to WDW. So I called Roger and ask him to turn around from going home to go back and get you and your family. And again Roger was there with 2 CAR SEATS for you and your family. And as I tolled you on the phone that I would do my best to pick you up the next day. At that point I have already dispatch all the work out for the next day.And I had no more drivers lift with out any work. I called a out side driver to come and get you guys back to the airport. At that point I did the best that I could to get you and your family back to the airport to go home..And I tolled you that on the phone when the driver was there with 1 CAR SEAT and not 2 SEATS. And you tolled me that you were going to take a Shuttle with NO CAR SEATS. So now thats the hole story. And to Kawabunga.. Thank you!
And to linda8892 I haven't said any thing about MEARS.....Rabbit

Rabbit perhaps I should refresh your memory concerning Mears:
You clearly stated DON'T TAKE MEARS in the message below.

I am glad that you presented your side of the situation with the car seats...in the entertainment industry there are many days where if you stood on your head you could not make the guest happy no matter what type of compensation you offer.

Wow, this is kinda scary and definitely decides who I'm not going to use...

"I was also tolled "

"And I tolled you"

Coincidence? I find this sort of behavior shameful to say the least. I don't care what the details of this transaction were, there's no excuse for this. This is not the first post I've read where the owner of this company has publicly berated an unsatisfied customer. And the tendency to run other companies down on these boards has always bothered me, and yes it has happened several times. Unprofessional is the best I can call it.

Prince Eric1 ...You sure called this one.

I have no gripe with Roger what I have a problem with is that I paid for your service, round trip up front, (twice) and on the return trip there were no car seats. Then you said you tried to call me which was clearly not true as you had a cell number. In response to the shuttle as previously posted due to structual differences between the shuttle and a lincoln town car car seats are not required. I really liked it when your driver told me"car seats are just like catapaults and your kids would be hurt worse in them." I promise I won't reply anymore but if we are going to tell the "whole" story lets be accurate. You never said you would have a problem on the return trip but that it would be no problem. Obviously, you and I have a difference of opinion I only hope the situation is an isolated incident and in the future 4 year olds are not forced to use lap restraints, I couldn't use the shoulder as she was too small and if you cannot provide the service then decline the work. P.S. The alleged side driver did have a "Your Ride" business card
