Many people, including myself, seem to be recieving an email this morning from "Virgin Atlantic Flying Club [Flyingclub@virginatlantic-email.co.uk]"
looks ok but its not your account number or miles.

From VA site

EMAIL PHISHING SCAMS
It has been brought to our attention that passengers and members of the public have been receiving email communications that use the Virgin Atlantic Airways name and logo, or otherwise purport to be from Virgin Atlantic Airways. The emails ask for personal information and in some cases, money.

Virgin Atlantic Airways can confirm that it is not associated with these rogue communications in any way. They are fraudulent attempts to obtain personal information and in some cases, money.

DO NOT RESPOND TO THESE EMAILS IF YOU RECEIVE ONE.

Virgin Atlantic Airways will never ask any of our passengers for personal information by email.

Thanks Wayne...I've just looked in my email account and seen one of these...sent it to my junk folder :thumbsup2

Cheers Wayne. Fortunately hadn't bothered to open mine yet, but it's now happily in the deleted folder :)

Some could be genuine but mine wasn't. Membership number totally wrong but the miles although wrong were very close.

I got an email from the VA FC today - it was headed {No SUBJECT} and no proper graphics so I immediately though it a bit dodgy however my membership number and airmiles balance are right:confused3 so was this phishing? - and if it is how did they get all that info?
I deleted it just in case.

I got one this morning and then another in the last half hour. I don't know my membership details off the top of my head so had no way of knowing whether they are accurate or not. It is possible that one of them may have been legit. but not worth the risk so I deleted both - thanks to the heads up posted here.

I got this one, but not the blank one, I did get the check in on line one though and linked through from that, so hopefully I haven't done anything to compromise my security.

The trouble with the apology, which I also got, is how do we know that even that is a genuine Virgin email :confused3 That is what is so terribly annoying with these things. I suppose I will just delete their apology too.

I have deleted them. But I did laugh as on the apology it did say this real email from Virgin or something to that effect. How hard is it to put that line on your fake email.

Kirsten

I think that might be fake too, because usually when i get Flying Club emails i get two, one for me and one for my husband, but these email i only get one for me:confused3
