Warning!! Rant!!

We don't get pizza much but when we do it's from Whole Foods. Our local one has a brick oven and when we order their veggie pizza they put loads of them on (so much more than any pizza place we've ever been to). I will say never buy pizza by the slice at Whole Foods since they charge by weight (it is a ripoff), but the whole pizzas are a great value.

Pizza hut is over priced compared to the local shops we have here.

$10.00 for x-large sausage pizza from local place and it taste better.

It all depends on where you live.

If you like pizza hut stick with them, just do coupons only.

I haven't used our local Pizza Hut since they "forgot" our order on DD's birthday 2 years ago. However, they still charged us (a LOT of money for a LOT of pizza), just never delivered.

So I had a house full of hungry girls and no pizza.

When it came over 3 hours late, there were 0 apologies from the store. No apology from the store manager either. I had to take it to the district level but never got reimbursement. It was NOT ok!!

That night I would have totally just cancelled and gone elsewhere, but by the time we sorted out that cluster other stores had closed. And there would have been no way for me to get my money back. Even better, they had the order over 12 hours because it was placed that AM online. Angry, angry, angry!!

Switch to Papa Johns. We have another local chain that we are using more and more - honestly, if they had a cheesy bread, we would never use Papa Johns again because they are that yummy.

oh heck no... this would make me make throw a temper tantrum . stop payment. free pizza for year, etc.

We also get the Whole Foods take and bake pizzas. Tuesday is two pizzas for the price of one. We get the cheese pizzas and add our own toppings. I like adding chorizo and red hot peppers. Also arugula and prosciutto are a good combination.

StitchBuddy, if you join the Pizza Hut Lovers (or whatever they call their loyalty club), you will receive email offers at least once a week.

We order half and half, but not the meat lovers type of pizzas. There is no extra charge for doing it that way. Try ordering online and see what happens.

We don't 'do' pizza restaurants at all - much better tasting to us to buy 'prepared, ready to bake' from a great local grocer. Lots cheaper too!

We rarely get pizza any more, but we usually get Papa Murphy's when we do. It is really good and a lot cheaper!

Maybe this is regional but I don't think anyone in our area ever really orders Pizza Hut anymore.. There are far too many excellent local pizza shops to choose from that most people don't even consider the national chains, with a lot being shut down because of this. Sounds like way too much money for not good pizza. Definitely go local next time if you can. ..Typically way better food at a much more reasonable price.

Same here. PIzza Hut is long gone, and dominos is the only chain that remains. I can get pizza delivered (free) from over 30 pizzerias.

It's no wonder Pizza Hut has closed down in many locations. They closed our local PH a few years back; they were notorious for slow service. When they first opened, the pizza buffet they offered at lunch was a great value, but if you placed an order for a whole pizza it took FOREVER.

To the PP's who make their own pizzas at home, I seriously have to try this for my family. We are trying to cut back on eating out. Even fast food is pricey these days.

Pizza Hut!!??!! Ewwww....we ate at a Pizza Hut in Kentucky a few years ago. We were visiting the Mammoth Caves and Pizza Hut was the only place open. We couldn't believe how awful it tasted. The frozen pizzas I buy for my teenaged sons & his friends at Aldi's for $3 taste better.

Anyway, around here good pizza is pretty expensive. I just spent $50 for 2 large pizzas delivered to our house yesterday. I'm from Chicago so pizza is very good here.

ETA: I just looked at the receipt. It was $54.87. I'm not sure how much they charged for delivery. Probably around $3. Tax is alot here, so that was probably $5 for tax. That also didn't include the tip. My dh probably gave him $5.

Cheap pizza = cheap ingredients! I would rather spend more. And get real natural fresh ingredients! Lou Malnati's the Lou is the. Best pizza ever!

I did throw a temper tantrum - a real one! I was so upset over it.

My husband is the laid back person in this relationship, and I finally had to hand the phone over. Poor DH, every time he tried to say something on the phone, I was still yelling my "thoughts" about it in the background. That was how angry I was!

Pizza Hut was our "go to" pizza store before, and now we haven't had it for 2 years or so. I'm glad we dumped bad pizza for good and haven't gone back, from the sound of this thread.

I was just gonna say this:rotfl2: I think it's a regional thing.....here in the northeast we are literally drowning in excellent pizza shops eveyerwhere...I didn't even know pizza hut still existed till I visited family in the midwest:rotfl: I was shocked to see one standing there..... I haven't gone since I was a young kid.....
