We got back from WDW on Oct. 9th. and my back still hurts. I rode Primeval Whirl the last day and it hurt my back. I thought for sure I would love that ride. That was the most jerkiest ride I ever rode. It would slam you one way then another. I actually have a huge bruise on my leg and one on my arm. The one on my arm is gone but the one on my leg is still there.

If anyone has any kind of back problem they shouldn't ride this ride. I didn't have a back problem before the ride but I do now.

We just got back too. I didn't ride this, but my mother and sister did. They also thought it was terrible! Too jerky!!

I am not a fan of this ride. I also thought it was to jerky. My DH on the other hand thought it was great.

We recently rode this ride twice. The first time it was much tamer (not as jerky and not as many 'spins'). The second time, later that day, we rode it in the pouring rain. This time we appeared to be going a little faster, spinning more, and got 'slammed' a little harder. We chalked it up to a wet track, but there may simply be a good bit of randomness in the ride, given all the spinning and turning it can do.

Ive only ridden it once and since then its not a must do for me. DH & I rode with a lady and her son. None of us were bigger than average and I was completely squished on the end. I had very little room at all. While it didnt bother my back, my leg kept getting banged on the side and I got a bruise too. Up until now I have never seen anyone else complain of this and I thought maybe it was a freak thing that happened to me.
Sorry it had to happen to you too. :(

Tori loves the ride so it's a "must" for us! I have noticed that it sometimes is more "jerky" than other times. One bit of advice tho: although the ride has never bothered me in the past, in July we went on it right after breakfast @ Donalds. DON'T!!! :crazy2:

I love this ride. I believe there are warning signs such as "if you have neck, back problems, blah blah blah, do not ride". I think the jerkiness you all talked about is why this ride has a fairly high height requirement.

It is one of th few "coasters" that my 81yo Mom will ride. She like it a lot, but I think Mission Space has got to be her current favorite.

My 14 yo DD and her friend rode this in July and they reported that it was very rough. They even banged their heads together during the ride. I'd be careful about his one.

Just from what i have seen from pictures ...this ride looks like it belongs at a carnival not Disney.......it looks like a redesigned "mouse trap' rollercoaster that I have seen at boardwalk amusment piers and at traveling Carnivals just added a diffrent car and some painted cut outs along the way....anyone else feel this way or does it look better in person??

I have tried PW a few times and have had different experiences each time. The first time it was just myself and my husband but we sat next to each other so we were squished at every turn. I didn't find the spinning a problem, just felt very cramped. The next few times I went on with a friend. Again we had a car to ourselves, but we sat on opposite ends. This was a lot of fun. It allowed you to move without getting squished and the jerky factor was not nearly as bad. This last time I went on with my husband and two other passengers we did not know. It was HORRIBLE. I was so squished that it hurt and you could really feel every little jerky turn. After that, I'm not sure if I will take the chance on venture on again.

The imagineers did a good job because that is the theming of the Hester and Chester Dino-rama area- its supposed to look like a fair/tourist trap. That's why they even painted the ground to look like it was set up on a parking lot. Like it or not it's meant to look like that. Here's what Disney says "Take a whirl into prehistory in one of these spinning time machines that are part of the zany fun fair of Chester and Hester's Dino-Rama! "

Their are warnings about this ride before you get on it- I like it but it really does whip you around. It's all outdoors so you can watch it before you ride it and decide. -Steph

I must've ridden it on a less jerky day (which sounds weird, but you know what I mean.) I have a lot of neck problems but DD and I both loved this ride and went on it twice.

I have rode the "Wild Mouse" ride at an old amusement park when I was younger. It is similar but PW jerks way more than the WM ever did.

When I saw PW from the ground I thought it was a cross between Wild Mouse, Tilt a Whril and tea cup. I love all 3 of those rides. This was just way too jerky!

Even the 11 year old I rode with didn't want to ride it again. She will ride just about anything. So when she didn't want to ride it again, I knew it wasn't just me.

Gosh I thought it was just us. We have ridden a couple times on two different vacations and it is really not fun because you try to brace your self. Got bruises both times. I was hopeing it was like tilt-a-whirl since I love that ride so much but no such luck.

DH loves this rede. For me it's just okay but he won't go on unless I go with him. Like some of you I too ended up with some big bruises on my knee and leg. To me it's just not worth it to get that banged up.

Chuck, your mom rocks!! I hope I'm still riding M:S and Primeval Whirl when I'm her age!

I think the jerkiness of PW depends greatly on who is in the car. If you're heavily weighted on one side, you tend to spin more.

I agree. It's not one of my favorites. I don't like the spinning.

Chuck - your mom sounds so cool!
