I logged onto my Disney Visa this morning, and had many pending charges I did not make. When she read me the list of charges, I recognized some of them as sites I had clicked on from Mypoints e-mails, such as Blockbuster online and trimlife. Others i did not recognize, were primus telecom, CLC something, dentalplan.com, urban nutrition, aol, serenity something, juven beauty???? I have no idea where these charges came from, but I suspect a Mypoints connection. Watch your credit card charges carefully. I closed mine and am closing my Mypoints account too.

How do you think the sponcers would have got a hold of your credit card #?

I don't recall Mypoints ever asking for a credit card number so I don't understand the connection. :confused3

I haven't quite figured it out either, but I know I clicked on trimlife and blockbuster through mypoints yesterday and today, and charges showed up from them. I did nothing on those sites to enter my card # or make a purchase. I have made purchases through the Mypoints website using my Visa before, and so far mypoints is the only connection I can find.

Making a purchase through the MyPoints website does not give them access to your credit card (they just provide the link to the merchant). Only the merchant gets your card number.

Is there any other online service you've used where your number may have been "taken" (spyware can be a nasty thing)? There have been a lot of reports of stolen credit card numbers from large companies & retailers recently (DSW is the biggest one I can think of right now).

Hope everything works out.

Aaughhh....DSW. Dh and I are in the category of those who might have been compromised (and of course, we'd never even gone into the store before that time *sigh*) -- we're still waiting to hear. It's an awful feeling.

Georgina, I hope everything works out okay for you!

Thanks. As soon as I called, Chase shut down the card and said they would send me a new one. They assured me my 107 reward points would transfer too. I hadn't made any purchases on it for 5 or 6 months because I had used it for a 0% interest offer and just paid it off, and suddenly all those charges showed up. I may have shopped at DSW a few years ago.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Going to show my ignorance now...what is DSW? :confused3

DSW is a Show Store, they had ALL their CC transactions hacked a couple of months ago. Also Polo stores were hit with in the last 2 weeks, and Mastercard came out and said it believed ALL GM mastercards were comprimised. I do NOT believe it had anything to do with my points.
