Just got my phone bill this morning and I was shocked! We never use our home phone for long distance so our bill is always the same within a few $ every month. I opened it this morning and it was $30 more than usual. My first thought was who used this phone to call long distance don't they know it is free on the cell phone?!?! Looked at page 2 and saw it was me
32 phone calls between 6:53 and 7:00 am really add up. When I did finally get through I was able to make all PS for the trip and got CRT for my DDs first birthday. This is shaping up to be the most expensive breakfast we have ever eaten. It is all worth it in the end but I just thought that I would warn others.

Is it possible to use the toll free numbers found on the Dis Dining main page for these reservations? I've used them for all of my other PS and have never had a problem.

Wish I had know abot that before I was just using the WDW-DINE#:)

Ouch! A lesson that will well be worth it when you see your DD's face in the castle with Cindy and the other princesses.......

I was on the phone with CRT and was trying to book a room for a 1/2 hour and ran out of minutes right before the room was booked. That was annoying.:o

We have never had any luck getting through on the toll free line. Usually after trying for 10 minutes, the tables are sold out anyway.

I've made about 12 PS's, including CRT, and just got my phone bill. The charges to WDW-DINE are £4.21, that's about $7.50........and we are calling from the UK. Why are your charges so high?

Ouch!

I haven't made the call to WDW-DINE in a few years and now that I know the toll-free number I will save it for future reference.

Do you get recorded information when you dial for PS and is that why you are charged for each call? If you would only get a busy signal you should not be charged for each call.

A recorded message comes on each time you call even though I hung up right away it charged me a minute per call. Strange how the phone company works, they can charge you for 30 minutes worth of calls in a 7 minute time frame:rolleyes:
I have free long distance on my cell from but I was afraid it wouldn't connect fast enough or would drop my call.

I have a cell phone with free nights and weekends, so I always make my ressies then for anything at WDW..... If you have a cell, check into using it for the long distance calls.

You shouldn't be paying more than .05/minute for LD. If you don't want to change your phone carrier just use a pre-paid phone card.

Be careful with some of the 10-10 plans. Some of them charge $1.00 for a 15 or 30 minute call. BUT that is the minimum. A short call to an answering machine or a recording from Disney saying the reservation office is closed will still cost you $1.00.

Sounds like OP got stuck with one of those kind of "deals".

I'd be afraid to use my cell phone for CRT as it doesn't come in that great at home and I wouldn't want to take any chances!!

There are #800's out there...I think one is #877-939-3732 which I got from Scott the PS calculator guy!

I just use my home phone with the regular Disney phone number and it doesn't cost me any thing extra, no matter who I call or how long I talk! I just switched from Verizon (where my minimum bill was about $50 then it would always be more if I had any long distance calls) to IDT for $39.95 plus tax which is $54! That includes local long distance, call waiting, caller ID, etc....I am so happy now that I don't have to worry about my calls anymore EXCEPT for 411 calls...they are $1 each so I just look up the number on the Internet!:teeth:

My phone bill was about $20 more than normal. I was actually using my cell phone also. I just used whichever phone I got through on first. Non of the CRT calls were that much, but .04 a minute adds up. Especially when call repeatedly between 6:56 am and 7:00 am for about 8 days.

Oh, well all my PS's are done and I'm happy.
