Hi all!
I just wanted to inform everyone about an experience I had with the BankOne/Disney Visa card. I applied for one about 7 weeks ago. Approximately 3 weeks into my ap, BankOne sent me a note asking for proof of my address (I just moved to a new city 7 months ago). I sent a utility bill. Several more weeks go by.
I wondered why it was taking so long to get a response, so I came on here to post the question. After doing a search I found this
thread
Come to find out, BankOne has their "acceptance matrix" that is different than other cc companies (having credit and not using it was one is a no-no for them). I was all of a sudden mad at myself that I didn't see this thread before I applied.
Finally, I called the status hotline and found out that I had been denied. A couple days later I got a letter saying why...they couldn't verify my address or income (I'm self-employed). I'm not at all mad, but I am very confused as to why this happened (at the same time a little relieved!) I know this won't happen to everyone, but I want people to know all they can and make an informed decision. Just b/c the Disney name is on it doesn't make it better than sliced bread.
Thanks for letting me talk...

) and I only work 6 hours a week (during the school year, during the summer I have no job). Anyways, I was so excited to see a Disney Visa in my mail, but once I looked over the application, I realized they asked for income. I figured my income wasn't enough to satisfy their needs, so I just threw it out.

. If yes than I can tell you that it is marketed differently for each account, as an example, if a cardholder doesn't use their credit card often then the bank may give them an 'incentive' to use the credit card, such as bonuses. This may not always be the case, it's just based on what the marketing department is offering and to which accounts. I hope this helps, if you need anything else please don't hesitate to ask!
, but with the DV the bank will probably refine the program to have better rewards and promotions, at least I'm hoping they will!
