The really wonderful people at All Ears listed a really good promo code today on the site (they always save me tons of money each year). It is a really great offer of $139. So obviously, I wanted to take advantage of it since my stay is right during the code time. But... I am staying for 12 nights and I was staying at a rate of $169 for the first few nights and then up to $219 for the next few days.

So, I happily called this morning to get the new rate. My general view is that most of the people in reservations at the Dolphin are not as nice as the ones at Disney, and boy was I right. The lady that I talked to kept me on hold for over 20mins before coming back on the line replying, "Sorry, can't do that, there is no avalibility" Yeah right... The code was posted this MORNING! How could it all be gone?

So I asked to talk to her supervisor. Another 15 mins pass, she comes back and says, "We will honor the rate now." Great, yeppie! I just saved a bunch of money.

So to anyone that is going over the dates listed below, keep pressing until you get a good rate. I just wanted to share my experience and tell you all good luck! :cheer2:

Here was what All Ears said today:
"WDW Swan and Dolphin Resort Special Room Offer!!!

I called about the Nurses rate for May '06 and was told there was no availability. I think I will keep trying. The girl on the other end was very nice through.

I also was excited to notice this new code as I have been waiting for a lower rate to appear for the Swan / Dolphin. I was actually able get the 139 rate by going to the Swan / Dolphin website. I hope this helps.

Based on availability is the key.

The S/D stays busy with conventions, often times the discounts are not available on all nights.

Congrats on the great rate. :)

when do these normally come out? I'm a teacher and I thought I noticed before that the teacher and nurses rate were the same. I haven't seen any posted yet. I'm not crazy about staying at the S/D..I'd rather be at the CSR, but I need to do this vacation on a little budget. Still hoping for a great rate at CSR, but if not, we have to do S/D (we have 5...so 2 rooms at the mod or 1 at S/D)

Crazy, I think I called about the rate. We also have 5 in our group and were planning on POR (they let you put 5 in a room). We enjoy POR so much I'm not sure we will stay at S&D even if we do find some availability.

Although we enjoyed POFQ, I'm not crazy about POR. I'm really getting my heart set on CSR....When we went in 2003 we got the mod at $69 with FLA res discount. Our FL relatives won't be joining us this year, however, I thought the Visa discount was around $99...at that rate I could get 2 rooms at CSR and be very happy!!! If not I'd probably go for the $149 teacher rate at SD, but won't have 2 bathrooms! :confused3. I'm still also worried that we won't be "immersed' in the Disney magic like we feel at the Dis resorts!

I called and changed my $169 AP rate yesterday as well. However, I had absolutely no issues with them applying it. Took about 3 seconds. You must have had a nutty person on the phone. I did have a "problem" though - well...it's probably just a problem I've created in my head. I won't go into it - if interested see my post on the resorts boards called "Emergency Dolphin Question."

Thanks to Allears!

I managed to get the $139 after calling twice. first person had no clue about the EARPRO code. I called back immediately and the next person changed my reservation giving me the lower rate. The savings was Huge for a 8 night stay. I even managed to get a 9th night at a Teachers discounted rate of $169. I have called every single day for the past 3 months inquiring about Teacher discount on Dec. 27th. They kept telling me the last day they are offering this is on the 26th. Somehow, the reservationist added it on to my reservation! Thanks to everyone for mentioning this code!!

has this expired? it won't work on the website.

No, it won't you have to call according to Deb's site.

Also you really need to call on these during business hours. After hours you are often sent to the reservation center for starwood and they don't have a clue.

What # should we be calling? Thanks! :)

I posted earlier in this thread. You can click on the Swan/ Dolphin icon at top of this page. You can get the 139.00 rate for certain dates without a code. Expedia has a 143.00 rate. Hope this helps.

Any thoughts on if this offer will be extended into Jan Feb? Best I can get right now was $194 with an AP. I would like to find a teacher rate so that I don't have to buy the AP.

I would not count on this rate being extended. This rate is in effect during the slow convention period. Conventions pick back up in Jan/Feb. There might be a teacher rate however.

The $139.00 rate (+ the 6.5% tax and 5% resort fee/day) was available without a code today on the Dolphin website for Dec 25-27, 2005 when I checked to compare with rates at other hotels.

I thought they got rid of the resort fee. What's this 5% resort fee thing?

Local resort tax. I think it's on all hotels in the area
