Warning about Black Out dates on new AP

There has been at least one report, maybe two or more, of people who talked to Disney (being passed to different CMs) about this exact issue. The outcome was that because Disney could see via their MDE that they had purchased the Gold AP voucher and made park pass reservations for Thanksgiving well before the new APs were announced, Disney will make sure they have valid park admission for those days. That’s probably what the email means when it says “If you have any more questions or challenges,” the challenges being those Thanksgiving dates. So please call them, and let us let us know how it turns out.
Indeed you are correct. To the OP, I would call now and not wait for the gate. Denial now is ugly, but denial at the gate is extremely ugly.
 
I did just that because of the conflicting info I have seen, as well as my park passes.

Making park pass reservations requires having a valid park admission for the day being reserved. I have park passes booked for 11/25-11/27 with my unactivated Gold Pass renewal certificate. So, their system is saying that my Gold Pass renewal certificate will be valid to enter the park on those days. If I get there 11/25 and they try to tell me otherwise, I will be quite unhappy.

This was exactly my experience. We have Gold Pass renewal certificates that will now be activated as Sorcerer Passes. Had to talk to multiple cast members, but eventually we were given hopper passes to cover the days that we already had Park Passes booked that are now going to be blocked out.
 
In April I renewed our APs, they are Platinum/Platinum Plus - what will they be when we activate this December? And, more importantly, will we be able to visit parks (we have reservations) during the last 3 days of our vacation - which are blocked out on the Sorcerers passes calendar?

Thank you Sandisw. Planning this whole trip has been challenging, like trying to hit a moving target, there have been so many changes. There have been Covid related changes like the borrowing restrictions and the park pass system, but there have been so many other changes like shorter ADR window, the end of FP and no ROTR boarding groups - replaced now with the Genie stuff, the end of EMH replaced with new & different EMH, now the whole new pass system - when I renewed the passes I did so based on the old system.
WDW has always evolved & changed, but this year it just seems every time I think I‘ve figured it out they change something else.
