Hello! I am looking into booking a WB Tour and maybe trying to get tickets for a taping (Two and a Half men) but I was wondering if any tapings occured during the month of December? We're looking at Dec 10-21 2008. Also, if tapings do occur, is their a specific time thats better to take the tour if I want to catch a glimpse at an actual taping? I know theirs many tours per day and was just wondering if one might be better than the other. Thanks alot!!!!!! :goodvibes

your best bet is to contact warner bros. but i doubt that they won't know until nearer the time.

(sorry - i am not much help am i?!)

i done this tour two weeks ago and we visited the set of two and a half men and saw by pure chance the actors of The Big Bang Theory in the car park - they were filming later on that day.

good luck.

Thanks julieannbabe! WOW! Thats awesome, I love the Big Bang Theory! Were you able to take pix with the actors or maybe talk to them?

In general, do you think the tour was worth the $45? What else did you visit in California? I need ideas!!!!!!

Thanks ALOT! :upsidedow

I love the tour and always recommend it. I've been 4 times now, and it is my favorite thing ever.

They might be on a break from all filming during Christmas. I've been to a taping of 2 and a half men and they film at night. It started at 7pm and finished at 11. It was neat to try once, but I would never go to a taping again. they squeeze you in like sardines and you can't leave for anything until the intermission. It was tiring, and honestly a little boring. So I wouldn't take the tour if you are hoping to catch them filming that- they film it after the tours are over for the day.

When we went they were also filming episodes of gilmore girls, so we got to see a little of that. They film almost everyday there, but you don't go into any of the soundstages where they are recording, and the outside sets that are being used at the moment are usually avoided (we were able to view gilmore girls from a distance, we couldnt get closer for fear of our noise picking up on the mics)

but regardless, everytime we've seen celebrities which is neat!

Thanks audrabolster!!!!
ooooh 5 hours to tape a 30 minute show of Two and a half? Woo ha! I dont think I could handle it!!! I think I will just do the tour and hope to catch a glimpse at some celebrities. Would you recommend a specific time of doing the tour? morning, afternoon?. thanks again!!!! :goodvibes

we've done all of our tours either 1:30 or 3:00. It really is such a great tour. the guides are great too- each tour is different. They'll ask you what shows you like that film there, and they will tailor the tour so you can see more things relating to what you like! So if you speak up about the shows you like, you might be able to visit the soundstage, etc.

The thing with the taping- they redo it if someone messes up, but they also tape each scene THREE times. By the third time, you get tired of having to laugh at the same thing!

alot of people don't think that the tour is NOT worth it; you have to put your cameras in the cart for a lot of the time as no cameras are allowed on the sets. also people moan about the fact that you are driven past the buildings and not allowed inside.
i knew all of this before i went - so i didn't find the tour to be too bad.

the tour guide said very discreetly to us and pointed towards the car park that it was the actors from the big bang theory - we just looked over. the tour guides make it VERY CLEAR that if you see someone famous that you can't jump off the cart or approach them.
People who have been on the tour and didn't like it - say that they didn't see any actors - so maybe i was just lucky?

(SPOILERS OF THE TOUR!)

The main reason i went was to see and sit on the friends couch - i got to do that - so mission accomplished. :)
You get to see where they film the outside of ER.
The costume museum is okay - except it is more of the newer shows costumes - i would have liked to have seen costumes from the older films - also upstairs is the Harry Potter museum - fans will love this.

i had booked the day at universal - so when i got to universal - i got cab from there to warner - it only cost be about $15 - was lucky - got a tour straight away at warner bros.- then in the afternoon when back to universal and finished off the day there.

I did the LA city tour - that was good - you get dropped off at Hollywood Blvd, Santa Monica, Venice Beach and Farmers Market/The Grove.
Kool day tour.

Enjoy and Have Fun! :)

by the way - most shows take 3-4 hours to tape - because friends was so popular - they had to maintain the highest of standards , jokes, etc so that would take 8 hours per show to tape.

I went on the WB tour last Summer too in August, I really like ER so I went mainly for that reason alone. Although on the whole I thought the tour was very interesting, it was just nice to see all the different sets, the prop rooms which are huge and like others have mentioned the Friends stuff and Harry Potter costumes, the hall of all the famous cars is pretty good aswell. I didn't see any actors, but that's alright I think most of the tours take place in the Summer when shows and taking a hiatus from filming. I think they were setting up for something to be shot later in the day though when I went, but I don't remember what it was. Some night scene so loads of blackout sheets were being put up.

As others have mentioned though yes they do take your cameras and lock them away, but you are allowed to get them out at certain 'photo opportunities' and I seem to remember you also get a free photo of your group superimposed on the Hogwarts Express. The gift shop was my favourite bit though - ER fans heaven!
