Do you have one? Do you really use it?

Doing a kitchen reno, and trying to justify this (1000$) expense.

Thanks!

Jane

Save the expense. The people I know that have put them in during remodels use them rarely, if at all.

My friend has a Brady Bunch kitchen from the 70's and it is all orange and avocado colored with a warming drawer. We used it during the holidays to keep things warm but honestly it is so unnecessary! Use the oven on low if you must keep something warm. I would use that 1000 bucks for something more useful! Like a trip to Disney? lol. Or maybe customize a cabinet to have a spice rack or something.

Later on for resale value, no one will buy your home over another cuz it has a warming drawer. It is really cool, but silly.

Intstall it only if you entertain atlest 7 days a week. And if you entertain that much, I'm sure you have chafing dishes you use. :rotfl::rotfl:

Seriously, I would invest the money elsewhere in your remodel.

Have fun, I would love a kitchen to be customize for my cooking, catering and entertaining need. Enjoy!!

I wouldn't get one. I have one that came standard on my stove and have never used it.

You are both reinforcing my gut feeling!

I'm starting to cave to the appliance salesman's shtick - "Don't you want a warming drawer? ALL the highend kitchens have a warming drawer . . . "

I'm also getting selection fatigue!

Only if I enterained every weekend. And even then it would still be a toss up in my mind. I won't even let DH put in a double oven for me, I just wouldn't use the 2nd oven enough to justify it.

Unless you are in an area that every house must be up to date on the latest and greatest in order to sell, I'd skip it.

OK, so then fess up, what are you choosing? Maybe we can confuse you more?:lmao:

I would put that money into double/triple ovens, 6 burner gas stove, a beautiful hood for over the stove, or double drawer dishwasher.

I have one and we use it to store the broiling pan. I think we have used the warming feature twice in 5 years, and once I tried to use it but didn't manage to get the thing turned on.

Waste-o'-money!

No, but I want one in my bathroom! Imagine towels, pajamas, etc... :cloud9:

Are you getting a chop/vegetable sink? I would consider a garbage disposal there, as well as your main sink.

Instead of a regular drawer on my stove we have a warming drawer (didn't cost $1000) we love it and use it quite often

I've got one and it makes a great storage drawer! I have never used it yet, and I've had it 10 years!

$1,000 is a lot of money, not sure I would spend it, but I would love to have a warming drawer! Espcially now that it's winter, my dishes are always so cold, I'm always putting them in the microwave to warm up! DH thinks I'm crazy, so I served him dinner on cold dishes one night and he said he liked his micrwave dishes better

i think i would use a warming drawer quite often. my DH works until 8:00 pm most nights, and i'd love to have a warm meal waiting for him when he gets home-DD and I eat at 6:00 pm. sadly, i think from carrying meals to work in a cooler with ice for drinks, he's come to prefer his food cold.

Ditto :thumbsup2

Use mine all the time!!! In fact used it last night and might wind up using it again tonight. It's a crap shoot as to when DH will get home.

Yes and YES!

I plan on having another one installed when we gut and do over our kitchen.

The money spent is worth ones sanity when large crowds are expected and when multiple dishes are wanted/needed!

My "special"/holiday meals usually consist of eight or more sides, creating the need for a warming drawer.

They also can't be beat for keeping things such as biscuits and pies nice and warm(hot!)!

Already getting the 48 inch, double oven Capital Range, and DH is building the cabinets, including a custom wood "range hood." Not getting a double DW, but I am getting the Miele 16 place setting.

I think the appliance guy smells a sucker at this point!

DS got a towel warmer for Christmas - they had them at BB&B - he has offically warmed every piece of clothing he owns by now!

I'm getting a double sink, but unfortunately, disposalls are against code here.
