Tell me what you'd rather be doing instead of shoveling snow tomorrow.......

I want to wake up at Grand Floridian and have an early breakfast at 1900 Park Fare.
Then off to Magic Kingdom for rope drop. Hit our favorite rides all morning. Lunch at Tony's at around 1pm.
Back to the hotel for cold beer and suntanning around the pool.
Dinner at EPCOT - le Cellier would be nice.
Hit Soarin and a few other rides. Catch the fireworks from the Boardwalk.
Enjoy some strolling entertainment at the boardwalk, maybe rent a surrey bike for half an hour, and then do a little shopping.
Assuming we are childless this evening we hit Jellyrolls and lose complete track of the time not getting back to our room until 1ish.

Enjoy digging out tomorrow!

I'd like to wake up to breakfast at Chef Mickey's, take the kids to the Flying Dumbo and maybe a a few laps at the Raceway. Head back to our "home" at BLT for lunch and maybe go for a swim. Then back to one of the parks to tire out the kids before bringing them back to BLT's Top of the World Lounge to watch the fireworks then they go to bed at DW and I can cuddle in front of the TV.

We will be doing this in about 4 weeks, but until then, there will be snow to shovel, snow pants to put on, and funny things to watch like this clip out Snow in Toronto: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCS06rbL5hI

Not sure how much we're getting here...the worst isn't supposed to hit until tomorrow afternoon. But with less than 2 weeks til we're there, the snow is a lot easier to take! ;) As long as the forecast for next Fri/Sat remains fair!! :scared:

I would rather be sitting in a raft on the lazy river in typoon lagoon, or sitting on the beach in Castaway Cay or be riding it's a small world.

Of course my dd has an appointment tomorrow at 10 am.

I just want to somewhere, anywhere away from snow!! I'm so DONE with winter. LOL I'll just join one of you OK? :rotfl:

The wind and I think freezing rain(??) hitting the window woke me up at 4:45. I have to go to work today so its going to be a very long day.

I'd rather be heading in my car driving to Detroit and getting ready to fly to San Juan the following morning for a cruise........ Yikes, that is what I have to do on Thursday morning. I think that the weather will be better by then and that there are not lots of backlogged flights

I was thinking of how sorry I feel for those that are booked to fly south today! Kids are home from school. Maybe we'll try on summer clothes or start making packing lists. DH thinks I've lost my mind!:confused3

We are currently at WDW and were scheduled to fly home today but Southwest cancelled our flight yesterday so we are rescheduled for Friday....luckily we were able to extend our stay at Pop....I hope the roads are clear when we fly in to Buffalo on Friday...of course I am not looking forward to digging out the van at the airport!!!!

I just wish I didn't have to work today and I could truly enjoy a snow day. Unfortunately, technology is too good so I'm at home working.:surfweb:

Oh well, only 43 more days until we are back in Florida so I can suffer through the cold for now.

In the cold weather, you should drink something cold (like beer) to equalize your internal and external temperatures, and make yourself more comfortable. :happytv:

How did everyone fare then?

I'm east of Toronto (clarington/bowmanville) and it seems we only received about 6" of snow. According to my driveway & sidewalk as I shovel them that is. ;)

A lot of kids missing from school (buses are not running). I drove my kids to school today. I figured they are home Friday anyways (PA day) so they might as well go to school instead of driving me nuts. :rotfl: DD wanted to go anyways as the school will play a movie in the gym for all the kids!

It doesn't seem as bad as they expected in Guelph either - but all schools are closed - UofG and Conestoga are closed too. The worst of the snow was the drifts on the driveway.... my 16yo is on exam break and he was 'thrilled' ;) that I woke him at 7 to clear the driveway!!

On a happier note the groundhog didn't see his shadow so I'm hoping for an early spring!!

Off to go look at a California vacation for August now.... that will hopefully warm me up!

I'm in Waterloo and absolutely disgusted.
The University of Waterloo is open, but Wilfrid Laurier, the U of Guelph, and Conestoga College are closed. For what? Maybe 15 cms of snow--the majority of which fell between 2 and 6 a.m.

It's ridiculous. If they closed schools like this in the 80s I wouldn't have an education. And the forecasts! "SnOMG! Snowmageddon! Snonami!"

Get (sn)over it. It's Canada, it's winter, and it snows. Sometimes enough to cover the roads. This isn't news, let alone worthy of round the clock hype.

In Markham, just north of Toronto, it is not as bad as expected. Not sure what is the big deal about 6 inches of snow:confused3. I suppose some area got hit a lot harder. Anyways schools are close for both kids, so I have to work from home.

Really not as bad as I was expecting. I was off today so it really did not affect me. The DD's were more than willing to roll over and go back to sleep when the highschool cancelled the buses:rotfl:
There are some places around the house where the drifts are 4 feet high and then there are places on my driveway that have no snow at all:confused3

On a happier note the groundhog didn't see his shadow so I'm hoping for an early spring!!

I have been wondering about Shubenacadie Sam, haven't heard yet. But dd is convinced his burrow is blocked with snow!

:rotfl:

Snowing steadily here in Halifax, most things that were open are closing as it's not as bad as it's going to get. So far just a steady dump of pretty snow, no wind to speak of.

I am also working at home (less efficient to be sure, but more productive than giving over the day entirely to watching snow fall). I just had a wonderful diversion checking the long-range forecasts. Looks like our drive to NH will be fine, knocking wood, unless the forecast totally changes (and 8 days out I know it's not cast in stone). Our first day in FL is "only" looking at a high of 65, but the next day it's more like 76. Ahhhh.

Mickey&JoshNut, be glad you're stuck at THAT end, and not in the airport in Buffalo!! Could be worse... :goodvibes

Ted, you're in an office that's still open? Mine is too actually, I just declined the option of driving in this morning. But all I'm warming myself with is tea.

Wind has picked up here a lot. Lots of snow now blowing off the trees. Wind guage is showing 40 - 50 km/hr. I'm at the southern tip of NS between Yarmouth and Shelburne. Temp is still at -4 but it sounds like ice pellets hitting the windows.
We can't complain because this is the first SNOW storm we've had. We got rain all of the other times this year.
BUT O TO BE IN FLORIDA RIGHT NOW. :goodvibes

Ottawa seems to similar to Toronto. All buses cancelled but schools are open. My DD's stayed home since this is the first snow day of the school year.

There were definatley white out conditions for about 2 hours this morning. While accumulation isn't an issue I think it's because it is blowing so hard. The drifts against fences are significantly higher. It's still coming down but lightly.

Sunshine tomorrow so back to the regular schedule. I just counted our Disney Chain and there are 36 links left!
