Title pretty much says it all. Is it warm enough to swim in early to mid October? Our trip got pushed back a few months. Swimming weather definitely makes a difference in our resort choice.

Also, should I pack more summer type clothes? We were there in early December and it was chilly. Don't want to get stuck shivering again!

It sort of depends what you consider swimming weather.

How mid October? I think it would be personally. I would think around November is when it's a bit too nippy to swim.

Yes. We have gone for a week in October the last 2 years. There has never been a day in the last 2 trips that it was not warm enough to swim, or that we were not comfortable day and night in shorts. It was hot in the afternoons. The average temperature for the first 3 weeks in October is the mid to upper 80s. Towards the very end of October, the average temperature does go down to the lower 80s. The weather is pretty consistent in October. We have also have had several December trips, and unlike October, the weather that time of the year is all over the place- could be coats or could be shorts- we have done both in the same week in December!

You never know. We went in December one year, and the weather was great for swimming. We went at the end of October last year, and we wore pants and light jackets. It's hit or miss.

We were swimming in February in the mid-70s. It really depends on what you think is swimming weather.

When we were there early October in 2013, it was in the 90's, so definitely warm enough to swim. :)

We've been to Disney three times in October. The weather has been very variable. One year, it was warm (I.e., in the 80s) for half the week and then chilly the rest (high in the 60s). One year, it was in the 90s the entire week and we wanted to die. One year it was pleasant (i.e., 80s) the entire time. We also did a trip this past December, and it was much, much cooler than any of our October trips, both during the day and at night. December nights can get downright cold for Florida--into the 30s and 40s at night. I don't think it's ever been that cold for us in October.

For October, we tend to take mainly shorts and then take two pairs of pants per person, just in case--the pair we wear on the plane + one other pair. But we also stay in one bedroom villas where we have ready access to laundry facilities.

We have gone in August and in October...October was hotter. Yes, Oct. is definitely swimming weather.

It's definitely warm enough. On the last night of our last trip last year it got uncharacteristically cool and we wished we had long sleeves. Generally though, we wear shorts and tees.

Probably yes! We were there the first week of December, and my DH and kids went swimming. It was 80+ that day.

I would say yes. We swam in mid October a few years ago. It was really warm by our standards. We were comparing the weather that trip to our previous late November/early December trip a few years before when it was freezing so we were thrilled with the 80 degree temps!

We went at that time a couple years ago and it was one of our hottest trips yet!

Absolutely warm enough. We have been in October many times and it has never been below 70 degrees, even at night. My kids love to swim and I can't remember once it was too cold.

It's still in the 80's usually. 3 times we've gone during Jersey Week, which is 1st week in Nov. & we've always had a swim usually daily, & also have visited on 2 separate occasions the water parks. Water teps are kept at 85* i believe, but maybe not the quiet pools..I remember those being a lil cooler.

It's the first week in November usually. The schools in NJ always have off the thursday & friday right after Election day. * NJ Teachers Convention. Election Day is 1/2 day off, ( Unless its a presidential election ) then full day off. With usually only a Monday & Wednesday in school, teachers generally don't get too into starting learning lessons. I've heard some districts have the whole week off from school. So parnts here in NJ often take they're kids out & head to WDW. It's actually one of our fav. times too. Weather is Perfect, & you still get the end of F&W, we also get Halloween decor, & then XMas too..Especially the Osbornes Spectacle of lights show...

Now that the kids are getting a lil older it's getting harder to have them miss days from school, so we may be relegated to either summer months, or other Major holidays..

Halloween is fun..... Try if you can to get down to Fort Wilderness area...We did a haunted horse/carriage ride for like $60 ( Not sure if they have this anymore) but the campsites are all festive n stuff. People in theyre RV's have lights and blow ups and stuff...Very cool.:thumbsup2
