Friday 18th August
After an early breakfast we caught the bus in. The weather was warm and dry but very cloudy. I decided to video a lot of the parks today. We had treated ourselves to a camcorder for this trip and I thought I would get some practice in!
My FIL who has motor neurone disease is virtually housebound and he always loves looking at our photos so we thought it would be nice to film the parks for him.
After filming all the secrets up and down Main Street we rode Mark Twain, then Phantom Manor, then Big Thunder Mountain and Buzz and collected fastpasses for later.
We had wanted to go to Hakuna Matata for a snack but unfortunately it was closed
so it was off to good old Caseys where we just had fries and a coke as we knew we were having a big meal later.
We spent a lovely afternoon exploring Adventure Isle and the Swiss Family Robinson tree. I love the way that everytime we go to DLRP we notice little touches that we have not seen previously.
We rode its a small world and waited to film the clockwork figures on the oclock.
Then it was time for our fastpass ride on Buzz. I never bothered to note down our scores but lets just say Bryan always seems to win and I always seem to come last!
Then it was over to King Ludwigs for a meal. We had read some not so good comments about this restaurant but as we would like to try and eat everywhere eventually we decided to give it a go, especially as the theming looks great.
Well, we are so glad we went. The setting is fantastic, I felt as if I was in the midst of a Chronicles of Narnia filmset!
The portions are huge, even by Disney standards ~ when I saw the size of the portions on another table I decided to skip the starter. Bryan had the small chicken Caesar Salad King Ludwig followed by the Operahouse Stroganoff . I also had the stroganoff. Samantha had chicken with pasta (Prinzregent Pasta), Danielle had cheeseburger and fries, and Francesca had chicken nuggets and fries. Unfortunately my photos of the main courses came out blurred but I do have a couple of the desserts.
Danielle and Francesca had chocolate mousse. I can't find my receipt but I am sure their meals were amazing value, something like 3 or 4 euros.
Bryan and Samantha chose the Jesters Sundae
whilst I had lemon pie. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm
The food was absolutely delicious, even better washed down with lager!
Our server was great fun and I would definitely recommend coming here.
Afterwards we had a quick ~ who am I kidding here
~ look round the shops in the Village and then walked home in the hope of working off this excellent meal!
