Tuesday 27th December 2005.
When we woke up this morning it was really cold, definitely a day for thermals! We started to get very excited at the bus stop because it started to snow!
As we hadnt had breakfast this morning, we decided to visit Salon Mickey where we enjoyed a cookie and a cup of coffee. We were the only ones in there this time so took the opportunity to take some photos!
By the time we left it was snowing quite heavily and we headed for Big Thunder Mountain, rode it straight away and collected fastpasses for later. Then over to Star Tours, another fave of ours, and then back to Frontierland to ride Big Thunder Mountain with our fastpasses! The snow was starting to settle now and I was taking photos like mad! We wandered round Boot Hill and then Adventureland, just absorbing everything being transformed into a winter wonderland with snow. It was so exciting, I normally hate snow at home but had hoped and prayed for it on this Disney trip!
Then time for a spot of lunch at Colonel Hathis where we shared some pizzas. There was a band playing which made it all very festive and we thought the theming was great in here.
Afterwards, it was over to the Studios to see if Goofy Santa was around! His show was cancelled again but we started hanging around a little bridge scene inside Studio 1 just in case the Swing Alongs showed up there. Yay, we were in luck, the Swing Alongs turned up and started singing and swinging, and before we knew it, Santa Goofy had joined them! This was great, they performed lots of Christmas favourites and it was a real highlight of our trip!
We had a little wander around taking some photos, and guess what, Chip and Dale were at the umbrella, so we certainly took advantage of that!
We returned to Disneyland, the snow was really coming down fast and hordes of people were leaving the park. Goody goody, more room for us!!! Rode Big Thunder Mountain (again!), then Phantom Manor, then BTM again and again .it was a walk-on every time by now! Although we had planned to watch Fantillusion tonight, it was so bitterly cold that we decided to leave watching it again until the summer and continued to warm ourselves up on BTM. It is SUCH fun in the dark!
Here are a couple of my photos of the park lit up but they do not do it justice.
We left just before the park closed and made our way to Café Mickey where luckily we had made a reservation, because people were being turned away and told not to return for at least 2 ½ hours! We only had to wait 10 minutes for our table and were seated at the Dalmation booth upstairs. The food was excellent and I would definitely come here again. This is the dessert I had, an array of fresh fruit to dip into a chocolate sauce. Oh, heaven!!!
The characters we saw were Mickey, Minnie, Genie, Robin Hood, Sheriff of Nottingham, Pinocchio, Gideon, Pluto and Goofy. Gideon was very very naughty, he kept playing tricks on the girls!
After such a very enjoyable evening, we did some last minute shopping and reluctantly caught the bus back to our hotel and started packing.
