War? What would it take to make you cancel your plans?

plans are not being called off for me(next big trip:a day road trip with my bf)

I am not cancelling or changing anything with our WDW trip..it is on and no one is stopping me. No Terrorists are ruining my yearly vacation .....

GOB BLESS AMERICA AND GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS

We flew two weeks after 9/11 thanks to encouragement from these boards. What a mess our economy will be in if everyone stays home and pulls down the shades.

I went to WDW 2 weeks after 9/11. I felt fine being there. However, if war happens and that thing called "woman's intuition" strikes, I could possibly stay home. When the time comes, I'll just have to see what is happening with this war. I know that it could be very different from other wars this country has fought.

nothing would make me cancel my trip to disney, unless, as posted above, they cancelled all flights. It would take me 2 days to drive there from michigan and I only have a weeks vacation. My mother hasnt flown in 30 yrs and even without terrorists threats she was afraid to fly. So she went to her doc and got some meds to calm her down for when we go. I am not afraid of terrorists attacking our country. They got us once but I dont think our military would let it happen again, not to mention all the american citizens who are wise to them now. I am not afraid to fly, Im happy we now have better security on our planes and I have no problems if they want to search me or my luggage. I have nothing to hide and if they want to look, let em. I think I will have a problem getting my 9 yr. old daughter on the plane. she is afraid to fly now. War or no war Im goin to disney and Im counting the days..... I cant wait......:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

My next trip is actually to NYC, but not until July. I would think that it would take another attack on US soil to get me to cancel, and then it would have to be because the event we are going to is cancelled.

Let's see- I was in the WTC on 9/11 and I'm going to WDW come hell or high water for Easter break.

Period.

Life is random. You can get killed in a terrorist attack on your office building, or on vacation. I probably stand a better chance of losing my life (this time!) driving to WDW than anyplace else - statistically speaking.

So, we're going. No matter what.

I've gotta agree with this person... I wasn't in the WTC that day, I was in my office across the street.

Now I head to Ground Zero daily to go to work. So if I can do that, day in and day out, then I'm going on vacation!

The only thing that would keep me from going is what everyone else above has said: if I was physically unable to get there.

Kungaloosh!

Like Kallison & Buckalew, we went to WDW less than a month after 9/11. Getting on that plane truly created so much anxiety for me, but once I was in WDW, I was so glad we went.

Ya gotta live your life, and not sit and wait for something horrible to happen.

I can't say in the future what would make me cancel a trip, all I know is from my past experience, and that was to go as planned.

I live in michigan but am from long Island originally and all my family still lives there. I have heard so many stories of people who should have been at work at the WTC that day but for some reason or another they werent at work. My cousin lost several friends. another cousin is a firefighter with engine 33 and would have been at the WTC but he had jury duty that day. My best friends cousin and uncle both worked there but werent at work that day because they were attending the funeral of another family member. My grandmothers neighbor worked in a building nearby which also fell and she told us a story of an arab man who was leaning against her building looking at his watch and then at the sky, she said he was very calm when everyone else was running around so he looked very out of place, then someone yelled "plane" and the 2nd plane hit and she lost site of him. I do believe she reported it to the authoritys. I lived in manhatten for a couple years when I was younger and have been to the WTC several times. The elevator going to the top always made my ears pop and gave me butterflys in my stomach. How would you compare that elevator to the tower of terror elevator??? LOL. The one at WTC went so fast. I dont recall if it had a "dropping" feeling. I went to manhatten in august of 2002 with my kids and we went to ground zero. I just couldnt believe they were gone and had to see it for myself. At that time there was still a burning smell to it. It was horrible and very sad. NY just wont be the same for me, I love it there, Its my home and I miss it so much. But on a happier note....IM GOING TO DISNEY!!!!!! war and terrorists or not, Im going to disney.
