WANTED: Tips For Things To Do While Waiting For Parades

We like to wait for the MK parade buy the shooting arcade in Frontierland. They have checker boards that you can play, about 4/5 in that area. My DS is a checker whiz and after I got tired of him beating me he found another boy to play with.

Other than snacks my DS likes to get the plastic people to play with and that can keep him busy for a while. There is a souvineer stand in Frontierland that sells a small bag of plastic cowboys and animals and I thing we paid less than $4 for it.

We also always carry a small set of the disney trivia cards. We not only use them while we are waiting for parades and shows but they really saved the day when we were stuck at the airport for an extra two hours.

We have contests to see who can spot the baddest "bad shoes." It is a great way to pass the time. Ice cream works great too!

I love some of the "contests" mentioned. I think not only my 2 older boys, but also DH would really get into some of those.

Bobcat, the frontierland idea is also a great one. We've never spent too much time in that area, so I didn't realize they had some checker boards set up.

We EAT -- popcorn and Mickey bars, or I hold spaces while my some of the group go on rides. We TALK to the people around us. A few weeks ago the people behind us were teachers from NJ and had been to Hot Dog Johnny's, so that was good for a long discussion  - lol!!

Play I Spy.
Play dots
Tic Tac Toe

anything that can be done with minimal extra items.

I don't know if I would do the bubbles. It they get into another guest's eye there could be problems. I know they are just soap, but I don't think I would go there.

There is a Disney Trivia board game out that has child and adult questions. I would recommend getting something like that and taking some of the age appropriate cards with you and playing trivia with the kids. You could even go to the dollar store and buy some really cheap prizes and every time they get an answer they get a prize.

In MK you also have to get ice cream or hit the bakery and get a BIG white chocolate macadamia nut cookie (eat one for me) :earboy2: They are sooo good and I have to get one every trip :mickeybar My mouth is salivating just thinking of that cookie :flower:

There is also a handheld electronic trivia game. We have it and carry it with us and have tiny 'prizes' and if you answer 3 questions right, you get a prize or the winner gets to pick the afternoon snack that day or whatnot. They love it!

They are all up and down the parade route. It's blocked off into sections, new cm's for each section. Yes, we've had cm's do the same thing with bubbles and audience participation for Spectromagic as well.
