Hi all,
Having finally booked our flights (23rd Aug):),we now need a hotel/motel overnight before we book into OKW 24th Aug. As we are due to land about 9.45pm, I wonder if it is best to book somewhere in advance, or just try and find somewhere, bearing in mind we would have been travelling for nearly 24hrs.
Also any suggestions/recommendations for somewhere near OKW would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Jules

I would suggest somewhere in the Lake Buena Vista area, or even Hotel Plaza Blvd that leads from Crossroads to DTD. Otherwise if coming into MCO try the Hyatt there for the night.

pop century onsite,we tend to book as we dont waste points for that first night and gives us a chance to get a decent room. Also for entry you have to have room booked for first night for ESTA

Hi Claire,
Thankyou. Do you know if we can book online?

You can book online for most hotels direct or with someone like Expedia.

Thanks Paul,
Didn't know that!!
We usually do the same, but last year we were really delayed and didn't arrive untill 1am, so it seemed a waste of money! (also the fact it was Black Friday, and my DD's dragged me straight off to the malls, meant we spent very little time at PC!)

Onsite you can book a value for £40 with great4hotels.com using code D446B. Valid for any booking £60 or over, Triple rooms are over the minimum.
If you wanted more luxury for £36 you could stay at somewhere like Hilton Grand Vacations Club At Seaworld Orlando.

Hotels on their site for your night start from £17/night but pick one £60 or over and with code you can get a great place for £35-40.

I have found Expedia expensive last couple of years but they do sometimes have offers.

As you are getting in so late, I can highly recommend the Hyatt in the airport - really gorgeous rooms and lovely not having to go anywhere when you get off the plane!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I was looking at Expedia last night and thought it was expensive.
Our problem this year is we usually go with SiL, so she would stay in one room with DD's; and we would have another room with DS. This year it is only the 5 of us. We have a 2 bed at OKW, but will need a room for 5 for that first night.
I am only just begining to realise how much she did for us! She is a DVC member, and visits regularly a few times a year, so she would book everything for us!
My next questions will probably be how to get to places by car. My SiL suffers from travel sickness, so she always sits at the front and directs as DH has an appalling sense of direction! I haven't plucked up the courage to drive out there yet, but I may have to this year!:scared:

Do you know if they have rooms for 5, and would I just go on their website to book?

Cheers!

To be honest Jules, it was just the two of us when were last there in 2003 so I'm not sure about room occupancy, and I booked it through Virgin Holidays, but I'm sure you would be able to book on their website (we've never had any problems booking US hotels directly that way - especially with big chains like Hyatt):thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Actually I've just looked at the hyatt website and there is a contact phone number on there for people from the Uk, so you could give them a ring - it looks as though maximum occupancy is 4 people, but then one of the suites say that a roll away is available, so not quite sure (and it let me key in 2 adults and 3 children as an option - so it may be possible??)

Hi,
thankyou so much for looking into it for me, (DH loved the idea he didn't have to drive when we got off the plane!) but when I tried to book, DS who is 17 was classed as an adult. 2 rooms worked out too expensive just for the one night, so we decided against it. We thought about a night at PC with Wayneg's code it was £91, but last year we arrived late, and the 2 rooms we were given were in 2 different year blocks! That was ok as SiL was with us, so she was in one room with DD's; but we wouldn't like to be split up this time.
So, we have booked a night at the Beuna Vista Suites! Hopefully they will be ok, and it's not far to OKW!

Thanks for your help:)
