Wanted: a "places post" for Oahu

Anyone got any good pictures from Oahu? That's where DH is right now and I'm still jealous and want pictures.

I know you miss him and all and you've stated you're very jealous of his going, but you're just making it worse on yourself. Just let it go and do something constructive with YOUR time at home or elsewhere.

Flame away if you must, but it would be more beneficial for you to not obsess about his being away (albeit in a wonderful place), and channel your thoughts to something you can do for yourself or someone else while he's gone and before you know it, he'll be home.

Then plan something special for just the TWO of you. Maybe even give him your own little private "luau" when he comes home...

Geez Fojmo, come on. How many people here want picturespicturespictures of WDW because they can't be there, and I don't see you flaming them for wanting to see pictures of the place they want to be. Why is that any different?

(And why do I bother posting here when it seems every time I turn around someone's blasting me or a friend again. *mutter* )

Hey Rajah my DH takes off on business frequently and I usually spend my time contructively composing lists of all the ways he's going to have to make it up to me when he gets his butt back home.



Sorry I don't have any Hawaii pics. I've never gotten to go.

Let's face it -- your thread should have read WANTED: Sympathy! It's really NOT pictures that you want, or you could have gone to any website to get them.

It's "pity me because I'm not in Hawaii and my DH is" that you are looking for.

As for picturespicturespictures of WDW, I believe that's what DISboards is all about. Not that you can't ask for Hawaii pictures, but we all know by now that your DH is in Hawaii and you're not, so how looking at pictures of Hawaii are helping you and your jealous feelings is beyond me.

I thought I was being somewhat helpful in trying to suggest that you channel your feelings into something that might take your mind off of the time spent away from your DH, but I can see that any response other than the one you're looking for will be viewed as "negative". You must be one of those people who aren't happy unless your miserable and letting everyone around you know it.

Get over it and look forward to the time you'll have together when he gets back. Life is too short to worry about what you can't have...

LOL Toby'sFriend! Normally his trips don't bother me because I don't *want* to do what he does at the conference. LOL! It's just the locale on this one, and honestly the worst part about it was I wasn't able to experience his first sight of water that was BLUE instead of BROWN. Otherwise, I *have* been to Hawaii before, even if I was only 7 or 8 at the time and I remember enough of it that it's not *too* bad. I just want pictures! He never comes home with pictures, and y'all know me... give me a long weekend trip and I come home with 300 pics. LOL!

Elaine -- We will. It'll be a little bit, and may end up being Hawaii insead of WDW that year, but we will. And when we go, we'll have enough time to do more than just Oahu. At very least we'll try to get over to Kawaii, but I'd like to have enough time for 2-3 days each on Oahu, Kawaii, and Maui.

i was in maui a few years ago, but lost the pictures due to my divorce

i think that after DH and i hit WDW next year, our next trip will be hawaii. my sister's in kauai right now on her honeymoon...i'm so jealous!!

Ah Hawaii....man, that brings back memories! I use to go every winter with the family I nannied for, rough job I know!

Anyway, as you plan your lovely second honeymoon, and planning and dreaming are half the fun, right , a few words of advice. Don't try and do a bunch of islands, pick one or two and savor them. Personally, I would skip Oahu entirely, too much like a lot of big cities, albeit with Diamond Head for a back drop but still...I would spend time on Maui for fun and Kauai for relaxation. There is tons to do on Maui, siteseeing, swimming, snorkeling, sailing, the Sugar Cane Train, Whale watching (in the winter/spring) Haleakala, man, I am making myself "homesick" Kauai is much more laid back, lots fewer people, plenty of time to sit on the beach. I have tons of pictures but no scanner, bummer. Let me tell, you though, they are some good pictures!

Those are beautiful pictures. It brings back memories. I would love to go back to Kauai and Maui. Oahu was nice and I'm glad we saw it (rented a truck and spent 3 days going all over the place) but Kauai and Maui were wonderful. We are hopefully going to go back some day and spend time there. Our first trip was on a cruise so we didn't get to see that much of the other Islands just Oahu. And Rajah I would be very jealous of my dh if he went without me to Hawaii and asking for pictures was a great idea.
