Want to try something fun...

Okay.... here goes

First up... here is my VERY FIRST scrapbook (cover) and first page ever. The pictures are cut from some sort of Disney hand-out and the terrible spelling and pencil writing are all mine, vintage 1975-ish.

Next.... one of the first pages from the first photo book I did when DH and I started dating.... and you can see how VERY yellow (almost brown) the magnetic pages are turning! Yikes! I need to plan some time to get those pictures out of those book!
The title is handwritten in marker on a piece of fancy wrapping paper (in case you can't see it). The other words are pieces cut from magazines and newspapers.

This one of the very first of my "modern" scrapbook pages. I was PG with DD and I ended up delivering 4 days after these pictures were taken! In addition to this page being really bad, the photos are SUPER embarrassing!

And here is my most recent creation. I "helped" DD make her individual page for the Rainbow Girls scrapbook. No journaling necessary and it came together super quickly! Sorry the lighting was bad and the colors look a bit wanky.

Thanks for taking the time to look at all of this!...................P

Pamela, I love your pages!! A lot has changed in the last 18 years hasn't it.

I love that closeup of DD in the Rainbow Girls album, she is so beautiful inside and out.

more fun examples of our scrapping journey....I used to round ALL my corners...I do like mostly simple pages for everyday stuff and fancy up the more "important" pages and of course Disney is fun to fancy up!

Wow!!! What a journey!! I too used to round everything and cut my pictures into shapes...so there isn't much re-doing even if I wanted to....it's too late for that! LOL

I like simple and fancy as well...sometimes simple looks fancy. I feel like I spend a lot more time on each page now than I ever used to. But, it's all worth it in the end!!

Popping in to say that my first album was sooo bad that I dismantled it and completely re-did it when Creative Memories came out with a baby boy paper pack that I fell in love with. My first album was DS's baby album, circa 2002. I had no clue what I was doing. I used the decorative scissors, hand-cut shapes for some pictures, stencils for others, and put it all down with a glue stick! :scared1: Luckily I was able to re-print most of the photos, but some that were given to me by friends are unfortunately stuck in the shapes that I cut them in. At least they have cuter paper, stickers, and titles now, though! :thumbsup2

We would love to see!!! Those darn deco scissors!! They were "so great" back when!! Now....well...

Aww...thanks. I was pleased with how that page turned out. Kind of sad I had to give it away! The colors in the swim photo don't blend very well, but the page was supposed to represent her for the past year, so how could I not include swim?

I actually rather like your first AKL page...sure it looks a bit dated, but the background paper is super! Happy b.day to DS!

Thanks to everyone for being brave enough to share your "early art"......P

What a great thread idea! I love seeing everyone's older layouts compared to newer ones.

Here is a page from my honeymoon album...you might need some sunglasses. Not only are the colors a little on the bright side, there are suns all over the page. Ha! The HM was 2002, the layout was probably done in 2003 which is about when I started to scrapbook.

This is a page I made earlier this year.
