We are going to have 2 weeks at Christmas because of the way it falls in the middle of the week and I just looked at trying to find a campsite for our RV (nothing) I also looked at the resort rooms and WOW! how does anyone afford those prices at Christmas. Anyone have any suggestions? There will be 8 adults and 2 kids.

Our poster Gizerd manage to piece together a Fort stay last month for about a time frame close to yours.

At this point 6 months out, you may have to check every day, take anything at the level you want even if it means multiple reservations/deposits, and piece it together. Cancellations happen especially around the package/money due deadlines.

Just be persistent. All we can say...:confused3

Yep, what Bama Ed said. Take a look at that thread, but using the day at a time method I was able to piece together 12/22 - 12/28. I did it online by checking several times each day and plugging in one day at a time. If a single day came up I'd check for a day or two around it and reserve what I could. I ended up with 4 reservations (and we're getting magic bands for each one - no way around that, I called. Seems wasteful.)

You would think that spots will open up as people's plans firm up or change for the holidays. Best of luck!

We were at the Fort for two weeks at Christmas this past year and it took a lot of checking first thing in the morning to piece it together. I will tell you that closer to the time people cancel, since you can cancel up to 5 days in advance. Which is why my two weeks at Christmas and three weeks at Thanksgiving are still reserved until we decide which we are going to use.:duck:

I learned last year to book those days early, ridiculously early. I actually still need to get three nights over Thanksgiving and we've had the rest of the trip booked for MONTHS.

Christmas through new years is a hard time to book. But price wise, I found that staying at an RV park near the beach was just as expensive as the same week at disney. Its FL in the winter on the Christmas to New Years timeframe. Every resort like destination is going to be expensive and many hard to book.
