The kids and I (and DH a bit) have been waiting for Carsland, well since they first announced it. We have watched the videos as it was being built etc, this is a big deal to my DS. I want to be there when he sees Carsland for the first time.

Here's the problem. We get there late on Thursday. so we will be there at opening on Friday. RideMax has them going on Toy Story Mania while I go stand in line for RSR....

Should I make them go all the way around to TSM via around by GRR? If they go directly to paradise pier, can they see down the street of RS as they walk by? Am I worrying too much? :)

Thanks!
Nancy

Yes they can see down part of the street of Cars Land if they take that street that goes by Bugs Life but they won't be able to see the RSR ride unless they wander back through Cars Land to get to TSMM which would be a roundabout way to get there anyhow. However, they won't see all the details until they actually get into Cars Land...there is so much to see down there! By the way, touring the area at night is awesome and should not be missed!

Here was our situation last Friday for what it's worth. I was adamant that my research showed that my husband should take the kids on a ride while I stand in the Fast Pass line for RSR. We got to the park at 8:40 for a 9:00 opening and the fass pass line was already 45 minutes long. I went to pick up our Photopass Plus card while my husband stood in line. He texted me saying that he was going to veto my plan (and all that research) and just dash to the ride at rope drop instead of waiting for fast passes. So, they did and I met up with them. We waited in line about 30 minutes, rode the ride and then went back to the fast pass station and got FP to come back and ride at night. When we got off the ride in the morning, the line was still only about 35-40 minutes long by the way. The FP CM's did say this method only works on a slower day so I guess we lucked out but it just goes to show that sometimes things work out differently than planned, and sometimes for the better! :-) Have fun - it's a great ride and we loved it even more at night time!

Photo tip: We found that any time the kids sat in the front of the car they were blocked in the photos by the windshield but when we put them in the back instead, our whole family got in the photo (so long as no one blocked another person's face with their raised hands).

So, if DD5 (42inches tall) rides in the back seat, it will be a better picture? Does it matter which side of the car? Is the photo taken from the side or front on? We're doing rider swap and she gets to ride twice since DS2 is too short to ride, so I'll let DH go with her first and see how their picture turns out and maybe swap places with her to get a better photo when it's my turn to ride! Thanks for the tip.

My kids DD7 48" and DD9 54" both hit the top of the windshield so we could only see their foreheads when they sat in the front seat. When they sat in the back they were totally visible, although my husband and I slouched just a tad in the front seat in front of them and he sat in the outside seat and tilted his head out a bit since he's 6'3". The photo is taken when the car is at a downward angle so you should be able to see the child in the back. And like I said, front row just has to be careful not to cover back row faces with their raised hands (just like on splash mountain). If you are on the left track, the photo is taken from a front right angle of the car. If you are on the right track, the photo is taken from a front left angle of the car. By our third ride, we got the perfect family photo. :-)

(I wish there was a way for me to attach my photos as an example but I haven't ordered my CD yet so they're still just on the photopass site....sorry!)
